Chris stood at the podium and looked at the crowd of people gathered to mourn a man that was loved by many. He began his eulogy.
"He was a friend, father, brother, husband and son. He was someone who touched out lives. I remember once he encouraged me to sing in coffee shops to pay my way through school. There he would always be the one to throw pennies into my hat. He was so jovial and such a well rounded person. With out him all these things that happened in the past become fond memories that can never be forgotten. So he is now probably looking down from us in heave wondering why we are mourning for him. He is waiting for us to stop crying so that he can be a content angle to do more things for others. Because he has so much love to give. Even to the end he smile and laughed. He knew what happiness was and he brought it to us in so many different ways. He gave it to me in encouragement, he gave it to Kira in a husbands life and to Tiffany in a father's pride. He gave it to all of us."
Chris stepped down from the podium and looked at all the smiled in the faces of tears. The smiles shown through the bleakness of black. Ethan did it again. He brought happiness even through the harsh reality of death. Kira held Tiffany in her arms. Chris had spoken the truth.
"Daddy!"shouted Tiffany as she ran to Chris to greet him in the park. No matter how busy his schedule got there was always time for his daughter.
"Hey my little pumpkin!"he greeted as she jumped into his arms. Kira looked from afar and smiled. Her heart felt full every time she saw Chrissy's and Chris' eyes light up. They were both a two of a kind. It had been difficult for her to tell Tiffany who Chris was but Tiffany had simply said, "I know mommy or I wouldn't have hugged him that day." Tiffany sat on Chris' shoulders as he walked over to Kira. He took her hand in his.
"This may be far from love, but lets give it a try," Chris said. He had no doubt in his mind.
They walked together as the perfect family as Ethan looked from above. This was the way it had been meant to be. This was the happy ending. Ethan smiled. Yes, he had brought happiness to the broken hearted ones.
