Joanne is a young lesbian lawyer who went to Harvard and is, in fact, the only major character without a bohemian background. She is currently Maureen's new lover and stage manager even though she herself says that she is not a "theatre person". She and Maureen constantly fight and break up, but always end up back together again. Joanne was played by Fredi Walker in OBC and Kenna Ramsey in the Benny Tour.
