My friend Laura called me up one day and asked me, "Do you like Keauna Reeves?" and I replied "Yeah, he's alright." She informs me that she has tickets to see his band, Dogstar, at the Ranch Bowl. So a few days later, we're off to the Ranch Bowl. We arrived a half hour before the doors opened. The band that opened for Silver Jet was Ivory Star [a local band that sucks].
During Ivory Star's set, Laura and I decided we needed a Sprite. We walk around to the bowling alley [the Ranch Bowl is a bowling alley/concert venue/3 bars] and buy our 75 cent pop. We noticed some lovely looking fellas standing by the stage door. I exchanged smiles with a stunning looking feller [tall, thin, blond, blue eyes]. We stand around s'more, waiting for the evil known as Ivory Star to stop wailing. Then, woo-hoo! They're done and Silver Jet climbs up onstage and HELL-O! stunning looking feller plays the bass. *thud*. Silver Jet impressed me so much. I have never been so impressed with a band. Luke has an incredible stage presence and Jeff is equally entertaining. Grant is one of the most solid drummers I've ever heard and he's such a cool dude!
After the show I bought a t-shirt [i didn't have enough for a CD], signed the mailing list and desperately tried to remember the names of the songs that they played. And from what I can remember i know that they play Kid, Plastiqa, The Crown, Pain, Master Plan, and That Call. I can remember no more. So, beloved SJ, when are you coming to visit me again?
