Third Eye Blind w/ Eve 6. October 24, 1998. Pershing Auditorium. Lincoln, Nebraska.

Last time Third Eye Blind was even in Nebraska, it was a show only for the college people..grr..So finally they returned [to Lincoln, but that's ok]. And this time they had a cool opening band [Eve 6]. So i made Jennii go and we got there early and met up with my friends, Gretchen and Amanda. We got a lovely spot right in front but all the stupid 8 year olds there decided that they wanted to be in the front, whether or not there was a concert going on or not. So about a half hour before the show is even scheduled to start, everyone starts pushing and such. Not good. Not good in the least bit. So we're squished and then Eve 6 comes on out and now I just can't breathe. So we get pulled out and go sit up in the seats. Eve 6 was awesome and I really wish I could see them at a smaller venue. It would be a lot more enjoyable.

So Third Eye Blind comes out and man alive, do they ever have energy. They put on a good show. I was particularly fascinated with Kevin. He is a beautiful man and his guitar work is incredible. I really do wish this band wasn't so popular, I could really like them a lot lot more. This was this first show I ever cried at too. Something about the way Motorcycle Drive-By sounded that night just sent shivers down my spine. It was beautiful. Even if the place was crawling with wanna-be's, 8 year olds and their mom's. I found really interesting that they did an acoustic set. That ruled.

The set lists looked like this:

Eve 6
How Much Longer
Tongue Tied
Showerhead
Open Road Song
Jesus Nitelite
Smalltown Trap
Leech
Leaving On A Jet Plane
Inside Out
Superhero Girl

Third Eye Blind
Thanks A Lot
Narcolepsy
Motorcycle Drive By
Good For You
Horror Show
Jumper
The Background
I Want You (acoustic--Stephan's solo)
Burning Man (acoustic set)
Tattoo Of The Sun (acoustic set)
---Jam session---
Gorgeous (new song--acoustic set)
How's It Going To Be
Losing A Whole Year
London
A rap song that I do not know the name of
Semi-Charmed Life
Graduate
Encore: I Will Follow (U2 song)
God Of Wine

Overall, it was a good show but I think I would really like these bands a whole heck of a lot more if they were lesser known and played smaller venues. It was definetely a show. Third Eye Blind put on a concert and show...dig?
