Jacey A never ending battle Chapter 3 Rated: G --------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi ppl, SM doesn't belong to me as you know, BUT this story and some of the characters in it, DO. (eg. Julie Cooke (Sailor Earth), Alex, Irene, etc.) This chapter starts immediately after chapter two, as it's actually continuation as I ran out of room. *************************** Missing! one Sailor Scout! *************************** As Julie left, "spy" Serena, broke cover and looked over where Julie had been sitting. Here eyes widened, she'd been talking to a cute guy. "Oh, this is such exciting news. I think Julie's got a boyfriend or something, she disappears all the time and we don't know where she goes. Maybe she goes to meet that boy. Wow!" Serena ran off excitedly, running home. When she got there, she ran up to her room. On the way, her mum yelled to her. "SERENA, there's some boy on the phone!" Serena dashed back down the stairs and picked up the phone. "Hello? Darien is that you? Hi muffin! I just found out something sooo GREAT. I saw Julie talking to this guy in the arcade, and they were really talking. I think that she has a boyfriend, this is so exciting! Darien, DARIEN are you still there?" Serena sounded really annoyed. "Yeah Meatball Head, I'm still here." Darien said grinning openly. "Oh, I keep on telling you not to call me that." Serena scowled. "Sorry Meatball Head. Anyway, I called to see if you could like to come with me to a dinner on Wednesday night. You can tell your dad that this isn't a date because there will be other people there. I'd like Julie to come, because she and I didn't exactly meet each other as the first time I saw her, I didn't meet her. And the second time I saw her, she fainted. I'll bring a date for her, a guy called Alex who I knew at the orphanage when I was little. He's in year ten I think this year. Don't tell her that he's going to be there. And wear an evening gown. It's a ball we're going to, not a party." Darien said. "This is so fantastic." Serena said excitedly. "I get a new dress and everything. I wonder if Julie has anything to wear? Bye Muffin, I have SO much planning to do." Serena bubbled happily. "Yeah, bye Serena. See you on Wednesday." Darien hung up the phone and stretched. Where on Earth did Serena get all her energy from. Oh well he had to organise a tuxedo. By the time Julie got back to the temple, Serena had spread the word that Julie had a boyfriend. Julie stepped inside the temple grounds and got pounced on by Serena and everyone else. "Julie we heard all about him!" Mina screamed excitedly smiling brightly. "Is he cute? Oh he has just GOT to be. Can you find me a boyfriend?" She jumped up and down. Julie put up a hand. "Mina," Julie said in a pained voice. "Is WHO cute?" "You're boyfriend of course, Serena told us all about him!" Explained Lita carefully. "Boyfriend? Since WHEN did I have a boyfriend?" Julie yelled angrily, dashing through all the girls. Of course they all chased her. They looked high and low, but they couldn't find her at all . None except for Raye that is. She looked up, and saw Julie perched in the ancient cherry tree, in the yard. She began to climb up, and as the tree got steeper she began to swear. Julie looked down at her. "Raye, you know, I really can't stand swearing. So, let me help you get up here, don't be scared." Julie concentrated, Raye suddenly felt a light grip around her waist. But when she looked down, nothing was there. She was deposited in front of Julie on the branch. Julie folded her arms and leaned against the tree, waiting for Raye to say something. Finally Raye did. "Julie," she said. "What on earth are you doing up here? If you fell you could break your neck!" Raye said. "Raye, Raye, you never learn do you. I won't fall. I can't, not from any tree anyway. The tree's themselves won't let me." She frowned. "I probably couldn't say the same about you though." Julie crossed her legs and looked up at Raye. "You know what? I don't like people interfering with my life. Sere used to do it ages ago, and now she's doing it again. If I actually had a boyfriend, I might TELL people. BUT I don't have one. At the arcade I was talking to this guy as he had sat down next to me first and I decided that it would be very rude to ignore him as he was talking to me." Julie commented. "Sorry Julie, I never knew that you felt like that when people pried into your life." Raye said. "Now, what are you? You practically floated me up here. The only people I've ever known who could do that, was the Negaverse. Are you one of the them?" Julie growled. It started deep in her throat, and began to build up intensity as it went, suddenly it stopped. "You figure it out. Generals I dislike. Especially Jadeite, you don't know if he's dead do you? You guys just can't figure out what happened to him can you? Ok I'll tell you all as soon as I change, and DON'T tell them who I am. I had enough trouble trying to get Serena to keep her big mouth shut. I hope I don't get the same trouble from you, Raye." When Raye said that she wouldn't tell, Julie called her distaff to her. As usual, when her staff was in her hands she changed into her uniform. "I think I like your uniform better than ours." Raye commented. Raye suddenly realised that she had practically admitted she was a scout! "Take it up with the mages. Anyway, I needed SOME compensation from this." Julie said. Suddenly she yelled. "EARTH ENERGY, BLAST!" and a stream of energy blast into the wall. Well it would have been a wall if a portal hadn't suddenly opened in front of it. "Pluto! STOP NEUTALIZING MY ATTACKS!" Julie screamed. "Um, Julie." Raye said. "I prefer Earth." Julie said smiling grimly. "Did I just smell a faint fragrance of roses when you used your power? Or was it just me?" Raye continued. Julie grimaced as if she was eating something incredibly sour. "It's not just you. They made my attack smell like roses." Earth scowled angrily. "I was tricked into getting my powers. I didn't even want OR NEED them really. Um, climb down the tree, gather the others. Then I'll talk to you. PLEASE don't let them attack me. Or I can't be held resposible for the consequenses." Julie turned away and jumped down to the ground. "I'll be round the back, remember, no shooting." Earth vanished, like smoke. Earth tapped her foot impatiently, half an hour had already come and gone. Inside the temple, all the scouts, guardians and tuxedo, were planning what to do about this Earth character. That is everyone but Sere, Lauren and Raye. No one else noticed that these three weren't participatiing in the planning against the "new" scout. Luna didn't even remember and Sailor Earth from the Moon Kingdom. They all transformed and readied their powers, only then did they go outside of the temple. Earth was waiting. She appeared in the air above them, floating about six feet off the ground. "First," she said, "I'm Sailor Earth. Second, Mars over there told me that you guys didn't know what ever happened to Jadeite. Well I can. Jadeite is...." Suddenly Jadeite himself appeared beside Earth. "Well princess, how nice to know you were talking about me." He grabbed her and Earth screamed. Then they both vanished. "Well," Luna said, "THAT certainly answers our questions." she sighed, looking around at the others questionally. "Does anyone know the identity of Earth?" Artemis asked curiously. Lauren Serena and Raye began to fidget nervously, they couldn't afford to have any secrets now. Irene dashed in. Artemis told Amy to shoo her out of the room. "ARTEMIS, you will make Mercury do no such thing. Fancy me travelling practically to the other side of the Earth to see you guys again, and mind, _I_ travelled in an uncomfortable cat carrier, meanwhile Earth got to travel business class. Oh for goodness sake, don't look at me like that. Ok, so I don't have the crescent moon. I decided NOT to announce to our enemy that I was from the moon you dolts." Irene looked pleased with herself. "Who are you?" Luna asked. Irene looked insulted. "Who are you?" Irene mimicked haughtily. "Who am I! Luna, I'm shocked you must have picked up a memory flaw from being in Artemis's company for so long. Not even remembering your own sister, well I am not impressed. I always said that this would happen if you stayed in his company too long." She sighed and sat back. "I'm still not convinced." Artemis said, "If you're Luna's sister, where's your crescent moon then 'rene?" Irene blinked at him. "Why did you just call me 'rene, I haven't even told you guys my NAME and you named a nickname that I haven't heard for, oh about a thousand years. I don't have my moon symbol visible at the moment, but. REVEAL." Irene screamed, a crescent moon flared to life on he forehead, her blue eyes watered and she shook her head to disspell an oncoming headache. "Artemis, we can see she has an crescent moon, why DID you call her 'rene?" Luna asked. "Seemed fitting." Artemis said, "as I never really liked the name Irene anyway." "Do you know what I think?" Irene asked. everyone else shook their heads. "That it's easier to whisper to someone in human form," Luna chorused it with her. "Luna do you have any doubts?" Irene asked. "No," Luna said. "Well I still don't believe it. 'rene, if you were the real 'rene, you'll be able to tell me what happened on Prince Darien's ninth birthday." Artemis said smugly. "Fine, the Princess Earth was five that year. I had just gotten out of one of the council meeting rooms, when you jumped me. The Princess came along and locked Artemis in a room full of balloons for an hour. When he came out, he was a changed cat." Irene giggled. Darien raised his hand. "Irene, what on Earth are you talking about? WHAT Princess Earth. No Princess of Earth exists." Darien said. "No princess of Earth huh? Who do you think that Sailor Earth is then? Have any of you found out what her secret identity is yet? Well?" Irene wished she could fold her arms. Paws at the moment were inconvenient. Irene pounced on Serena, Raye and Lauren. They were looking guilty again. "You three, you KNOW don't you, WHO Earth is. I know too but you have to tell the others. Well, they're waiting!" Irene demanded. "She's Jules." Sere muttered, feeling like she was betraying Julie. "WHAT?" everyone asked. "SHE IS JULES" Serena yelled. "Who's Jules?" everyone asked. "JULIE OF COURSE, gee you guys are ever so dense tonight." Serena explained. "Julie?" Darien asked. "I have FAMILY?" he asked. "From the past and future anyway. But she isn't in the present." Serena said. "For goodness sakes Serena, at the moment she may as well be DEAD. Jadeite kidnapped her." Raye said. ** Meanwhile in the Negaverse ** "PUT ME DOWN YOU IDIOT, I COULD KILL YOU FOR THIS. *PUT ME DOWN*" Jadeite winced in pain. She was now attacking him mentally as well as vocally. "Shut up Princess." He hissed. "Unless you want to live a _very_ short life. I would enjoy putting and end to your whining forever." "Still bitter about me turning you down huh Jed?" Earth asked. "Gee it was almost a thousand years ago, and you still haven't forgiven me. Lets see if I can remember what I told you. Let me see. Oh yes. "Jadeite. You're one of my good friends and all but, I don't love you. I love you as a sister loves a brother, nothing more. I can't say the same for princess Mars though. She is really lost on you." You know, I'm fourteen now and I was only twelve then, but, now I have the choice of never marrying. Princesses didn't." Her mind flashed back to a memory from long ago, a fragment of song. *There's such a fooled heart, Beating so fast in search of new dreams, A love that will last within your heart, I'll place the moon within your heart. As the pain sweeps through, Makes no sense for you, Every thrill has gone, Wasn't too much fun at all. But I'll be there for you-oo-oo, As the world falls down.* *Oh yes,* Julie thought bitterly that song really applied to Jadeite alright. It had practically been written for him. "Jadeite, if you don't let me go this instant I'll..." Julie reached for her powers. They weren't there! Jadeite laughed unpleasantly. "You'll do what? Step on my foot? You aren't exactly powerful since I'm blocking you. And I'm going to kill that 'boyfriend' of yours back on Earth, as he is also the one who you were to marry in the Silver Millenium." *Alex is of planet Venus?????* Julie groaned inwardly, in an evil place with Jadeite, and finding out that a guy who you were interested in, was your fiance' in the past. Jadeite as if sensing her confusion, grinned smugly. "He doesn't have any powers in this time milady, they got lost in the tunnels of time." He said. "He CAN'T. He was going to be my protector." She whispered. Julie squared her shoulders. *Never mind!* she thought, *I'll just have to awaken him myself.* Jadeite disappearded into the darkness, in search of Prince Alex to bring him to the place called the Negaverse. Julie began a chant. She half sung it in a bare whisper. "Terra Knight, Prince of Venus, Awaken now, your princess needs you, you are my protector" Julie chanted this thirteen times, for each birthday. Then on the fourteenth, she added. "Terra Knight, Heed my call, Follow my voice, Ignore the dark, I am in danger. I, JULIE, PRINCESS OF EARTH, NEED YOU!" "Please," All through the chant her voice grew louder and louder, until the end was almost a scream. Then she whispered "please" as if it were a prayer within itself. She screamed. A symbol that was not an earth flickered on her forehead. A five pointed star within a silver circle? What was this?! "Mother, reach him PLEASE, I beg of you." Julie whispered as her dress became ankle length, her staff appeared and her tight braid unraveled. She felt extremely fatigued. All she wanted to do was sleep. Forever. *My Child* a powerful voice called from eons away, *Don't give up. You can't give up, there is no second Earth. 'till you marry and have a child, who will be the next Earth. You cannot die.* "Oh NO! I thought that now I wasn't a princess I didn't have to marry anymore. What a dissapointing day this is, first I tell Raye who I am, then Jed kidnaps me. Now Alex.... wait, don't tell me, I'm destined to marry ALEX?! NO! I don't wanna marry HIM. It's not fair, it's just not fair!" She screamed, kicking against the walls of the cavern. "I DON'T WANT TO LOSE MY POWERS I WANT THEM.... Hey wait, my powers, they're back. WAHOO!!" Julie ran around screaming. Suddenly she stopped. "I want a... um... cherry tree to climb." Julie rubbed her hands together in glee, growing stuff was fun for the scout of life. "Ok, I want to grow it there." She said, pointing to the center of the room. A strange wind blowed, cherry blossoms floated on the wind. "Grow little sapling, grow, touch the sky, reach up high and." Julie looked confused. "Oh just grow, I want to see a huge beautiful cherry tree, full of pink blossoms, next time I turn around. Ok." Julie turned around. She could feel the power flowing out of her, into the little sapling. "STOP." She yelled. Julie turned around, the tree was even bigger then the one at Raye's, "wow." Earth sighed. She ran towards it, and climbed it. Near the top she realised that there was a her shaped hollow in the trunk. *That looks very comfortable* she thought, *AND a pillow and blanket too! Thanks Mama. Goodnight.* And Julie slept, her eyes barely being able to stay open and she closed the door. An hour later Jadeite dragged Alex into the grounds and yelled. "Earth, that irritating boy is here to see you! I'm going to kill him now!" "Go away." Earth called. "But send Alex up, it's obvious that he's not irritating." "Up? Up where?" Jadeite yelled. Alex stared at him, he seemed very familar. "Uh, I think she means the huge cherry tree behind us." Alex stammered. "Of COURSE I mean the tree, you fools. There IS no other up." Her voice called again. "Redecorating, Earth? I thought I told you not to do that!" Jadeite yelled, balling up his fists. "No you didn't." She answered, "Send Alex up, I want to see him. It's been so long...." "How DO I get up?" Alex asked. Earth laughed. "I'll send down a vine of course, and don't try to climb it, it'll probably act like a swing." She answered. A vine snaked down to the ground, and stopped there. As if it was waiting for something. Alex gingerly stepped onto it. Up it rose, further and further, 'till it was just outside Julie's hollow. The hollow had grown. It now had a large living room. "Alex, how fabulous to see you. I'm Sailor Earth, the newest scout." Earth shook his hand. Alex's mouth dropped open, there was something familiar about that face, and those hands. His eyes clouded for a minute, then there was recognition. "Julie?" He asked. Julie rolled her eyes, "Great, is everyone going to recognise me in civillian form? Can you take me home now? I can't leave the Negaverse without being invited because I created this tree here." "ME, take YOU back? Back WHERE? Remember, you didn't tell me where you live." Alex blurted out. "Oh, well, I'm staying at Cherry Hill Temple; and you can take me back, because, YOU have powers too." Julie smiled. She waved her hand and her staff appeared. She waved her hands over the globe in her staff and a silver medallion with a picture of the Earth, with a face in it. She gave the medallion to Alex. He looked at her questionly." Put it on." Julie said. "It's already bound to you, that happened a long time ago." Alex did as she asked. "Place your right hand on the medallion. Then say or shout or whatever.. TERRA KNIGHT POWER." Alex obliged. His clothes whipped away, and he flashed. Julie began to blush red. A tight fitting armor that shone blue/red/green, materialised around his body. It resembled Prince Darien's armor and was complete with matching sword and cape. Julie waited patiently, still blushing while Alex gave his armor a once over. "Whay are you embarrassed?" Alex asked. Julie coughed. "Um, well, I forgot, when you watch someone (but me) transform, they kind of ah.. are naked for a split second while they are actually transforming. I don't because all I do is this." she paused to touch her crystal. Her clothes melted away into a more familar uniform. "I see what you mean, actually I think that we should blame the theose Moon Mages as they created my transformation." Terra Knight said. "I have a question, just before you take me back. A. How do you know about the Mages and. B. Do you have some sort of pet or something that has a crescent moon on it's forhead?" Earth quickly asked. Alex stared at her, "How did you know? I have this cat called Apollo (don't know why,) and his miowing sometimes sounds like talking to me. And I know about the Mages 'cause I remember." He looked away. "Fine, lets go." Julie said. "Um, let me touch your staff, and, I'll take us away." Alex concentrated on pouring energy into the crystal. Suddenly he heard a little voice in his mind, *Terra Knight, where do you want to go?* It whispered. *WE want to go to Cherry Hill Temple.* he said quietly in his mind. *Fine.* The voice said. Then Terra and Earth, disappeared into a mist, and reappeared above the temple. They floated to the ground. "Thanks so much for rescuing me." Julie said, kissing him full on the lips. "Jadeite's still a tiny bit mad that in another life, I turned down his proposal." Alex raised an eyebrow, "WHAT proposal? AND WHY ISN'T RAYE SUSPICIOUS?" "Uh, in the Moon Kingdom when I was twelve Jed proposed to me. I turned him down flat." Julie said nervously wringing her hands as if she expected Jadeite to pop out from behind a tree. "As to why Raye isn't suspicious that I'm here at the temple in this form? Well Raye is a scout too. Can you guess which one?" Julie asked. "I can only picture one of them chasing Chad around with a broom and that's Mars." Alex answered. "Are the other friends of yours scouts too? Wait, they have to be. Darien is Tuxedo Mask, Moon is Serena, Renee and Lauren are MM Emerald and Sapphire, Mercury is Amy, Mina is my sister, Jupiter is... Lita, and of course, Mars is Raye. Did I miss anyone?" Alex asked. "Nope, you got it all right. Come inside, the scouts need to meet my new partner. (and me)" Julie added silently to herself. "Um, so we can transform in front of others, just touch your amulet and see first yourself in everyday clothes. Then see yourself in your armour." Julie explained. Then they both detransformed then walked into the temple. When Julie walked into the temple, all the scouts were assembled there, planning for war. Serena uttered a small scream when Julie entered the room with Alex. "JULIE!" She yelled, and latched onto Julie. Julie was turning blue. "I..can't... breathe...." Julie gasped out. Everyone turned to face Julie, Alex and Serena. They stared. Serena let go and Julie collapsed to the ground, gasping. "Who's your friend Julie? Is he your boyfriend? Are you in love?" Mina asked eagerly. Julie sighed. "This is Alex. No. How should I know?" Julie answered. She straightened her clothes. "Now." She said pleasantly, "Let's start from the top. What do you want to know..... IRENE! what are you doing in here? And with your moon in full view I...." Julie stopped. Everyone was staring at her weirdly. "Um," Julie said. "Why are you staring at me for talking to cat. Everyone else in this room, does it all the time." "Oh except for Alex of course." She added hastily. Everyone sweatdropped. It was going to be one of those days. "Serena, do you REMEMBER Alex?" Julie asked curiously. "I remember.... a guy who looked kind of like Alex I guess. But. He was wearing...." Serena stopped suddenly. "This?" Alex asked, finishing off her sentence for her. He was now wearing his armor and polishing his sword. "Julie, I think that you should transform too." So Julie transformed. Then she stepped threateningly towards the mages. "I've got something to settle with Emerald and Sapphire here." She informed everyone else. Lauren muttered something that sounded like, "Geez Julie, it's been one thousand years, and you STILL haven't forgiven us. Right?" Lauren said, hoping she was wrong. "I don't know about anyone else. BUT. Having an attack that smells like roses JUST puts you guys on my bad side." Julie made a regrettful noise as her seventh sense went off. "Monster, Jadeite created attacking downtown......WHAT?! THE PIG. HOW DARE HE TWIST MY CREATION INTO ONE OF HIS PATHETIC CONSTRUCTS! Oh he makes me soooooo mad." Earth huffed. "Um, Julie." Alex said. "Since you created the tree with _your_ energy. Couldn't you destroy it on sight?" Alex asked. Renee put up her hand, as if she was still in primary school. "PLEASE Miss Julie, can I explain to novice Alex. Please Miss?" Julie glared at her and she meekly sat down. "No, NOVICE Renee, you may not.
