Milhouse Van Houten is the son of Luann and Kirk Van Houten, who recently divorced. He is Bart's best friend. He's also one of the funniest characters on this show. Once, Bart turned his name in to "America's Most Wanted," and in a spoof of "The Fugitive," he jumped off the dam after being confronted by Tommy Lee Jones.

He used to date a girl named Samantha Stanky, until Bart told on them and her father sent her to Catholic school. But now, he likes Lisa.

When Lisa liked Nelson, he asked her why, and she said, "Because I see that underneath that bully attitude, there's a shy, sensitive, caring Nelson." Milhouse cried, "I'M shy, sensitive, and caring!" Lisa replied, "Yeah, well, I guess you could say that I like the Milhouse in Nelson." "But I'm ALL Milhouse! And my mum says I'm the coolest guy in school!" "Oh, Milhouse, I could never think of you in that way. You're like my big sister." "No, I'm NOT! Why does everybody keep SAYING that??" Then Lisa asks him to pass a note to Nelson in class for her. He thinks to himself, "If she sees that you'll do anything she tells you to, she'll HAVE to respect you!" He grabs the note and says, "Sure! What's a big sister for?"

Later, the note gets passed to Nelson, who reads, "Guess who likes you?" He turns to see Milhouse nodding and gesticulating. You next see Milhouse being carried from the school on a stretcher. Lisa says, "Oh, Milhouse, I'm so sorry!" and the paramedic says, "He can't hear you now." Hee hee, I thought that was funny.

Milhouse is really funny.
