Herschel Krustofsky, AKA Krusty the Klown, is the biggest show biz name in Springfield. His show is the favorite of young Springfieldians, and he features "Itchy and Scratchy." He's gotten into various scrapes, which Bart and Lisa usually get him out of, but he can still never remember their names.

Once, he faked his own death because Bart made him a criminal with a check/autograph scam. But Bart convinced him to come back.

Bart and Lisa also put together his comeback special, featuring guest appearances such as Bette Midler, Hugh Heffner, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Luke Perry (who happens to be Krusty's good-for-nothing half-brother) and Johnny Carson. Elizabeth Taylor refused to come. She later fired her agent, because the show was a big hit.

Krusty has a sidekick called Sideshow Mel. His sidekick used to be Sideshow Bob (voiced by Kelsey Grammar), until Bob tried to frame Krusty for a Kwik-E-Mart robbery. Bart cleared Krusty's name. Krusty still doesn't know his name.
