Famous People I've Met and Stuff like that....

Over the course of my life I've met or known many famous people. Everybody always wants to hear stories so I decided to write my own stories. I will give your from earliest to most current who I met, approximate date, and what happened.

Summer 1988

who I met-

Seth Green

the story

In '88 I was 10 years old and I went to camp at Camp Harlam in the Poconoes (PA). A camper in the oldest age group happened to be Seth Green. Yeah the one in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Now at that time Seth had been in a few movies, the most recent being Can't Buy Me Love. The Camp always said they'd show Seth's movies to the whole camp but they never did. Anyway, I was obsessed with celebrities so I would stare at Seth all the time. I was too shy to say Hi. In the dining hall he would sit about 4 tables in front of ours to the left. He often caught me looking at him and he would smile back. Once I had to stay after and clean the dining hall. Seth was there too and he finally came up to talk to me. He told me he liked my shoes, cause we both had Pink high-top converse all-stars (yuck, so 80's!) Anyway the rest of the summer when Seth saw me he'd say Hi or make small talk, whatever. He was just a nice, normal boy and it seems nothing has changed. By the way I still have my camp yearbook (although it is way falling apart and there's about 4 pictures of Seth in it.

who I met-

Joe D'Maggio

the story

Nothing too exciting here. In Winter 1994? (or a year earlier) I was in a diner in NYC with my mom and aunt. They spotted him and went up to him and asked for his autograph. He too happily gave it. No body else in the diner asked for it cause they were too scared. My family doesn't give a shit - they just went up to his face and he was nice about it.

who i met

Kevin (Real World New York)

the story

In Winter 1996 Kevin gave a speech in Bloomington, Indiana. He basically said he hated white men the whole time, but he didn't mind white women. Uh, the talk was about racism. After the speech Kevin took pictures with my friend and I, signed our Real World book and talked with us. He gave me his e-mail and we exchanged e-mails back and forth a few times. I'd say he was pretty cool.

who i met

Sarah (Real World Miami)

the story

In Summer of '99 I was at the Lilith Fair in Hershey. I saw Sarah (or I thought it was her) working one of the booths around Lilith that give out free samples. I just went up to her and said excuse me are you Sarah from Real World cause you look just like her. She said quietly "yes" and then I asked her 50 ??'s. She happily answered. She's a cool girl. After I left 8 12 year old girl's went up to her to get there picture with her. I didn't ask for a picture and an autograph cause she didn't really want to be recognized and I didn't want to harrass the poor girl.

OK, in fall of 99 I got a new hobby (stalking bands) and I've become pretty good at it. need tips? e-mail me so most of the next people are people in bands!

who i met

Steve Harwell from Smashmouth (lead singer)

the story

I went to the Citizen King/Smashmouth concert first which was exciting in Nov. 99 I believe. I pushed my way to the front (aunt snapple is agressive) and at the end of the concert I beat up a girl for a drumstick which I'm very proud of. Afterwards, I stalked the band of course. After waiting an hour (and I was dozing off) Steve came out and autographed my CD and my drumstick. He's a nice guy!

who i met

Joey and Chris from *N Sync (yes I'm serious)

the story

This one I am MOST proud of. I snuck BACKSTAGE yes it is possible! At their Disney X-mas concert special taping at Epcot in Nov. 99. That night the concert was rained out and scheduled for the next day (good thing cause I didn't have a ticket). Rain or not, I stayed after to stalk them and that night they were taping stuff with Joey and Chris. So yeah, I snuck backstage where they were taping and nicely blended in with the people who had ACTUAL backstage passes. ha ha!! Anyway I asked Joey for his autograph, the mean security guard told him no cause he had to go someplace else, but nice Joey signed my poster anyway. what a sweetie pie. all the other girls wanted to kill me cause none of them got his autograph. you gotta be assertive. later that night i met Chris, and he signed autographs for everyone. He's shorter than I thought he was but couldn't be nicer. So the concert happened the next day, and some girl gave me her ticket and I went it kicked butt of course. I tried to sneak backstage the night of the actual concert to meet Lance, JC, and Justin but the security guards kicked my ass out. Oh well, I tried! Another thing about this experience (meeting Joey and Chris) I got on TV (Disney Xmas special on ABC) and I saw myself in Teen Beat All Stars and Pop Star magazine. Go me!

who i met

Chad (the drummer from Live)

the story

After their concert in Jan 2000 I again stalked the band. The only one I met was Chad. He signed my CD cover and took a picture with me. Again, very nice.

who i met

Rob Thomas and Brian Yale from Matchbox 20

the story

This is the most recent stalking. Sept 24, 2000, I had 3rd row tickets to their concert. I also caught a guitar pick that guitarist Adam threw at the crowd. Of course this was not good enough for me, so I stalked them. After an hour of waiting Rob and Brian came out. I took 2 photos with each of them and they both signed my CD, and the concert ticket.

Other celebs I met....Mandy Moore in Dec. of 99. I went to her CD signing in Orlando. She signed a poster and 2 CD singles for me. She was a nice, sweet girl.

Other celeb stuff...uh I went to high school with Pink. She sings "There you go" and "Most girls" You should see her 8th grade year book picture, boy does she look different! her real name is alecia moore. she was an ordinary joe-schmoe in high school. she actually never graduated (i believe she did get her GED sometime.) I grad. in '96, Pink was supposed to grad. in 97, but dropped out after 96 to pursue singing options. and the girl became famous, amazing! I talked to her a few times in high school, but no, we were not best friends!

The Consenus here is, the famous people I've met have ALL been nice, but I've heard some nasty encounter stories from other people about some famous people....

Well anyway, the moral of my story is DO stalk famous people and get their autographs...yadda yadda yadda....cause it's fun!

Another concert....another stalking....this time it was Barenaked Ladies....February 2000 in State College,PA.

This one I'm particularly proud of because I met the entire band. They were very nice (and they had clothes on)

They autographed my concert ticket and "Stunt" CD. I got photos with all 5 too.
