Glory & Liberty

Here they are at about 1 yr old. Glory is in front. Liberty was always behind her, shy, until she was trained.

I am excited to get better photos of them up soon. They’re older and larger, and more beautiful now.

Here is Liberty (also known as Libby). She is now 3 years old and stands over 16 hands high.

Here is Glory. She is now 3 years old and stands just a tad shorter than Libby.

Spotted Draft horses are like paints except paints cannot have any draft breeding in them. Draft horses include Clydesdales, Shires, Percheron, Haflinger, Belguim, and others. They are generally very large horses and often used to drive (like the Budweiser Clydesdales). Ours are half percheron and half quarter horse and are not used to drive. We use them for riding. They have shown a tremendous interest and talent in jumping and we are considering training them in that area and showing them.

UPDATED PHOTOS!!

This is Liberty ~ July 2004. While several people have commented that they look short in these photos - they are very tall. This one, Libby, is about 16 1/2 hands high. This measurement is taken at the withers (the high part of the back, between the shoulder blades). 16 1/2 hands is about 66 inches, or 5 1/2 feet.

And here is Glory ~ July 2004 Glory is just a tiny bit shorter than Liberty.
