For "Yourself…" he used a Fender American Standard Telecaster ran through a Vox AC30. He also used a Matchless Chieftain. For the acoustic parts (ie - intro on Long Day) he used a Martin.
Adam taught himself how to play the guitar. When he was 10, his sister got to take guitar lessons, and of course she got all of this attention from their relatives and family, so Adam secretly stole his sister's guitar and taught himself how to play. Heeheehee….
Adam’s musical influences include Jacksons, James Taylor, George Benson, new stuff like Tonic and Verve Pipe, Evan Dando aka lemonheads (recently has been helpful in my writing). Everything he ever hears on pop radio.
Adams favorite song of all time? "Not really sure...love ABC by the Jacksons...or Love you saved by them as well.

Adam used to work in a recording studio and one day Matt was working on a Collective Soul album heard Adam singing and playing the guitar. A little bit after that he hooked him up with Rob, Paul, and Brian.
How did you guys get hooked up with Matt Serletic? "I was working at Criteria...long story short met him there...the band knew his brother and got him to come to one of their shows when they were a different band."

You watch this show for your entire life, all of the sudden you’re on TV, and you’re like ‘I can’t believe I went through this thing’. It’s all just very exciting."
Some of the coolest people Adam’s ever met include "the Better than Ezra guys...tonic and verve pipe guys, Dishwalla guys....Adam Duritz from the counting crows was the nicest guy...we laughed for a while one night. Elvis was probably the COOLEST though...saw him last month in Salt Lake City pumping gas." Haha.
