July 31: Backstreet Boys In Toronto To Film Burger King Commercials

Source: Launch.com

(7/31/00, 10 a.m. ET) - The battle of the burgers heated up as the Backstreet Boys headed to Toronto last week to film a series of commercials for an upcoming Burger King promotion.

Several miles of streets were closed down on Thursday (July 27) in downtown Toronto to provide room for the thousands of fans who showed up hoping to catch a glimpse of the Backstreet Boys. The late summer/early fall promotion includes a 45-minute video titled For The Fans and three CDs containing 12 songs in all.

The video features new backstage footage and personal interviews with the Backstreet Boys: Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, A.J. McLean, and Kevin Richardson. Each new music collection will feature the group's new single, "It's True," as well as a mix of live, studio, and a cappella versions of several of their greatest hits. The promotion will run for six weeks in Canada and the U.S., August 28-October 1.

The Backstreet Boys/Burger King promotion has impeccably timing, considering that the competition has a very similar promotion that ends just four days earlier. McDonald's Summer Music Event 2000 promotion--which involves Britney Spears, "'N Sync, Joe, Carlos Vives, Sisqo, and others--runs August 4-24 at participating U.S. McDonald's. The Backstreet Boys signed this deal way back in January.

The Backstreet Boys recently returned to North America after working on their new album for the past several weeks with Swedish producer Max Martin at Cheiron Studios in Stockholm. The album is expected out in early October. Burger King will also be the exclusive sponsor of the Backstreet Boys' fall 2000 tour.

MTV VMA Snubs...

Source: Entertaiment Weekly

The MTV video nominations snubbed some of the year's best. No Doubt, TLC, and even the much maligned Mariah Carey deserve a nod, says Kristen Baldwin

Last week, MTV announced its nominations for the 17th annual Video Music Awards, and as usual the list included the good (Toni Braxton's '''He Wasn't Man Enough''' for Best Female Video), the bad (six nominations for nasty knucklehead Eminem's ''The Real Slim Shady''), and the inevitable (Britney! Britney! Britney!).

Of course, there were some puzzling nominations as well: Since when is Ricky Martin's glorified performance clip for ''Shake Your Bon Bon'' one of the year's Best Male Videos? And the ass-crack fest that is Sisqo's ''Thong Song'' video -— does that really merit nominations in the Hip-Hop, Dance, New Artist, Viewers' Choice, AND Best Video from a Film categories? The most disturbing part of the nominations, as always, were the videos that were overlooked by my fellow voters.

''Unpretty,'' TLC

Normally, ''message'' videos are too earnest for their own good, but ''Unpretty'' was both a sexy pop song (with this year's funkiest riff) and a beautifully filmed, daring video. Yes, bulimia, botched boob jobs, and racism are pretty heavy topics for the music channel, but it didn't stop ''TRL'''s audience from keeping ''Unpretty'' on the countdown for weeks. Stiffing TLC on the nominations, then, was just plain ugly.

''Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely,'' Backstreet Boys

While it makes perfect sense that BSB's lame ''Battlestar Galactica'' homage, ''Larger Than Life,'' got no nominations, it's a shame that this wonderfully morose clip —- representing the popsters' ''blue period'' -— was completely ignored. Howie, Brian, and all the boys acted their little hearts out in those based on true life tragedy vignettes, so certainly they deserve a space in the Best Group Video category. How they missed out when ''Say My Name'' by Destiny's Child (a video that has nothing going for it except a good color scheme) got one is inexplicable.

''Heartbreaker,'' Mariah Carey featuring Jay-Z

Normally, Mariah Carey's videos make me want to gouge my eyes out, but this candy colored clip -— featuring a Mariah on Mariah catfight, a ''Grease'' inspired cartoon, and an irrepressibly catchy rap interlude from Jay-Z (truly the best part of the whole song) -— was arguably Ms. Carey's finest ever. The worst part is, since she didn't score any nominations, Mariah may not even show up at the VMAs, and that'll deprive viewers the pleasure of making fun of her sure to be supertrashy outfit.

''Caught Out There,'' Kelis

It's really not all that surprising that this relatively unknown soul singer couldn't muscle her way into the Best New Artist category, but had MTV bothered to play this hilarious video -— in which Kelis physically beats down her dog of a boyfriend, sending him to the emergency room, and then leads a mob of angry women on an anti-cheater protest -— people might have voted for it. Certainly they would have chosen Kelis over the supremely untalented Pink, who nabbed a Best New Artist nod for her video ''There You Go,'' a vastly inferior ''girl power'' anthem.

''Simple Kind of Life,'' No Doubt

Maybe it's just a going on 30 single woman thing, but I think Gwen Stefani's tongue in cheek pop punk ode to biological clocks deserves a spot in the year's Best Video category. How can you deny a clip that uses a flashing, oversized birth control pill pack as a prop?

July 30: Backstreet Boy's hospital visit

Source: Worldpop

Backstreet Boy, Howie Dorough, has paid a low-key visit to a hospital to help cheer up a six-year-old leukaemia patient who is a big fan of the group.

Howie decided to make the surprise visit to see Jonatan Fonseca in the Florida hospital, Orlando, yesterday after his own mum heard that Jonatan recently underwent a bone marrow transplant with his identical brother David as donor.

When Howie's mum told her famous son Jonatan's story and how he idolised the group, the pop star, taking a break at home from recording the new BSB album, immediately cancelled all prior commitments and paid the boy a visit. Howie also spent time chatting with nurses and doctors looking after Jonatan.

Elba Fonseca, Jonatan's mother, said Howie told her son he was lucky to have a brother as good as David. She added, 'Jonatan's so happy. This is the best gift God has ever given me - Jonatan's recuperation.' Jonatan is due to return home today, Saturday, and will spend the next few months recuperating.

July 28: It's True: I Want It The Burger King Way

From: Backstreet.Net

Backstreet's back in Toronto filming a series of commercials for an up and coming Burger King promotion. They'll be in town until Friday but are not scheduled to make any public appearances. According to Bill Gray of Burger King Canada, nearly a mile of downtown streets had to be closed down on Thursday to accommodate over a thousand fans hoping to catch a glimpse of the Boys while they were filming at a new and yet to be opened restaurant in downtown Toronto.

The promotion will run for 6 weeks in Canada and the USA. It starts on Monday, August 28 and ends on Sunday October 1. BK will be serving up a whopping amount of new material from the Boys including a 45 minute video and 3 CD's containing 12 songs in all. Each CD will feature the world premiere of the next BSB single entitled It's True. The promotion will target younger fans as well. Each week, Kid's Club meals will include a different interactive BSB Cyber Crusader figure made famous by Stan Lee's Backstreet Project. Something tells us that kids won't be the only ones munching on Kid's Club meals this fall.

Here's the release schedule for the promotion:

Week #1

The first week will feature an audio CD and a 45 minute video complete with live performances and backstage coverage of the Spring 2000 Into The Millennium tour. The video is entitled For The Fans and will cost $4.49 ($2.99 in the USA). When asked if this video was in any way related to the mysterious/phantom release of "Standing Room Only", Gray suggested that it was possible that "some" of the material may have originally been shot with that project in mind.

CD #1 will contain the following tracks:

  1. Larger Than Life (Live)
  2. Back To Your Heart (Live)
  3. All I Have To Give (Live)
  4. It's True (World Premiere, Studio)
  5. That's What She Said (Studio)
  6. All I Have To Give (Acapella)

Week #2

CD #2 will contain the following tracks:

  1. The One (Live)
  2. SMTMOBL (Live)
  3. Quit Play Games (Live)
  4. It's True (World Premiere, Studio)
  5. That's What She Said (Studio)
  6. All I Have To Give (Acapella)

Week #3

CD #3 will contain the following tracks:

  1. I Want It That Way (Live)
  2. Don't Want To Lose You Now (Live)
  3. Don't Want You Back (Live)
  4. It's True (World Premiere, Studio)
  5. That's What She Said (Studio)
  6. All I Have To Give (Acapella)

Gray suggested to us that there will be plenty of copies to go around for everyone, saying that they had "ordered heavily this time" based on their experience with a recent and unexpectedly popular Pokemon promotion. He also told us to expect the new BSB album on October 10, a date that BMG is trying hard to keep.

BK is also sponsoring the Boys next tour which is slated to begin later this year and cover a minimum of 50 cities in the USA and Canada. They'll have 25 backstage passes to give away for each and every show, some of which will be available in online contests. Stay tuned for more info.

July 27: Backstreet in Toronto

Source: AllPop

By STEPHANIE McGRATH

Toronto Backstreet Boys fans may be shocked to hear that the five pop princes are filming commercials very close by.

That's right, A.J., Nick, Brian, Howie and Kevin are shooting three commercials in the Toronto area this week in preparation for their Burger King promotional campaign.

But according to Bill Gray, Burger King's national merchandising and promotions manager, the boys won't be making any glamorous public appearances during their stay.

"They'll be here till the end of the week," Gray says. "They're here to work and they're working very hard. We didn't want anyone to know they were here but there was a leak."

Gray says the commercials will be advertising an exclusive Backstreet Boys merchandise offer that will kick off in Canada on August 28.

Starting on that date, Burger King customers will have the opportunity to buy a 45 minute fan video that features footage of the Backstreet Boys backstage and their live performances. Three interactive CDs will also be on sale.

"The three CDs will have a half an hour of new music," Gray explains, "live renditions of their best hits, a new single and a cappella versions of some of their popular songs."

The Backstreet goodies can be purchased for $4.49 (~$3 US) and the price of a Burger King value meal.

The boys are also making sure their very young fans are satisfied. During the BSB/Burger King promotion, young children will get a Backstreet Boy super hero figurine with their kid's meal.

Gray went on to say that Burger King will be sponsoring the Backstreet Boys' upcoming 50-date tour in support of their next album, expected to be released in October of this year. According to Gray, the tour will kick off later this year.

July 26: Backstreet mania hits Toronto

Source: Rolling Stone

Backstreet mania hit Toronto July 25 when a local radio station leaked that the pop stars were in town shooting a Burger King commercial over several days at various locales. The shoot is for a BK Boys promotion which will launch in late summer or early fall. Burger King will be promoting a behind-the-scenes video as well as compact discs that feature one new song from the Boys' upcoming album, as well as previously recorded but "never aired" songs by the BSBs. The CD will be a purchase-with-purchase offer at participating Burger King restaurants. According to a BK source, there will be three commercials shot in Toronto, two geared toward adults, the other geared towards younger consumers. The spots will air in Canada before the U.S. . . .

July 25: BSB's Littrell Reunited With Stolen Pets

Source: MTV

Atlanta's amateur dognappers were no match for Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell, who was reunited with his pilfered pets over the weekend.

As we reported last week, two Chihuahuas belonging to Littrell and his fiancée, actress Leighanne Wallace, had been stolen from the couple's home outside Atlanta last Wednesday, apparently by two trespassing teenage girls.

A spokesperson for the search effort told MTV News that the missing dogs, named Lil' Tyk Thomas and Litty Leigh, were recovered late Sunday night from separate locations in the Atlanta area. Both dogs were said to be nervous and hungry, but otherwise fine.

Littrell, who had just wrapped recording sessions in Sweden, returned home in time to launch a massive search effort. According to the spokesperson, Littrell and Wallace drove to two different counties with law enforcement personnel to retrieve their missing pets after receiving a phone tip that apparently was made by one of the dognappers.

While Lil' Tyk was recovered without incident, the younger Litty Leigh proved to be more of a problem when the woman in possession of the puppy didn't want to give her up.

It's still not clear exactly why the dogs were taken, the spokesperson said, as the women in question offered up several different stories. The spokesperson added that Littrell and Wallace will not be pressing charges, as "they're just happy to have Tyk and Litty back."

Meanwhile, according to an interview with Howie Dorough in the Swedish paper "Aftonbladet," the band recorded seven songs in that country with producer Max Martin, including "three up-beat, two half-calm songs and two ballads." Dorough told the publication that the album is half-finished.

The band's publicist told MTV News that the next BSB album is expected out before the year's end.

July 23: Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell Looking For Missing Chihuahuas

From: launch.com

(7/21/00, 4 p.m. ET) - The Baha Men apparently are not the only musicians these days asking, "Who let the dogs out?" Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell and his fiancee Leighanne Wallace are wondering the same thing. The group's website (backstreetboys.com) reports that Littrell's two pet Chihuahuas have been missing from their Atlanta, Georgia, home since Wednesday (July 19). One of the Chihuahuas -- named Tyke -- is a male that has blond/cream coloring and weighs approximately four pounds. The other, a female named Litty, also has blond/cream coloring and weighs approximately three pounds. Anyone who has any information about the dogs' whereabouts is asked to contact the webmaster of the official Backstreet Boys site via BSB@artistdirect.com. Please contact the webmaster only if you have information relevant to the retrieval of the missing pets.

The website olive-juice.com -- the official site of the recently completed romantic comedy Olive Juice, in which Littrell's fiancee Wallace stars -- has posted the following message to the fans of the couple, which suggests that foul play might be involved in the disappearance of the dogs: "As many of you know, our lead actress Leighanne Wallace has two wonderful dogs named Lil' Tyk Thomas and Litty Leigh. On Wednesday, July 19, 2000 these two dogs were kidnapped from their home outside of Atlanta, Georgia. There is a search for the people who took these dogs and we ask for your help at this time. If you have any information on the location of these dogs, or any information about possible leads to the people who took these dogs, please contact us immediately." The webmaster of that site can be contacted at MissingDogs@olivejuice.com.

Littrell also has a cat named Missy, but there's no indication at this time that Missy had anything to do with alleged dognapping.

July 22: Brian & Leighanne in People Magazine

From July 31 People Magazine: In Malibu, Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell pracited the ancient prewedding ritual of balancing on one fot while carrying his fiancee, actress Leighanne Wallace, on his back with no hands. The two are keeping their wedding date a secret. Sorry, girls.

Backstreet Boy Littrell Falls Victim To Dognapping

Source: MTV

Two tiny blond Chihuahuas belonging to Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell and his actress fiancée, Leighanne Wallace, have been snatched from the couple's home near Atlanta.

At press time, a spokesperson for the band confirmed that the couple's dogs, a 4 lb. male named Lil' Tyk Thomas and a 3 lb. female named Litty Leigh, were still missing.

According to Littrell, who called Atlanta radio station Star 94 on Friday morning to talk about the theft, the dogs were taken on Wednesday, apparently by two teenage girls who trespassed onto the couple's property. Littrell told the station that a "generous reward" was being offered for the dogs' safe return.

Anybody with any information with regard to the missing dogs is being asked to call Suzanne Lear or Kristi Clark at the Atlanta Police Department at 404-350-9212. (Please note that this is a toll call.)

Tyk is the canine star of the soon-to-be-released movie "Olive Juice," which features Wallace in the lead role and includes cameos from Littrell and fellow Backstreet Boy A.J. McLean. A plea for the dogs' return, along with a photo of Tyk and e-mail contacts for anyone with information about the dognapping, can be found at the movie's official Web site, www.olive-juice.com.

The movie's producer, Nick Karvounis, told MTV News that Wallace had been playing with the dogs in the couple's yard when she was summoned away by the buzzer that signaled a visitor at the property's gate. No one was at the gate, but when Wallace returned to the yard, the dogs were gone. Later, a witness reportedly told Wallace that two teenage girls had put the canines in a car.

Littrell and Wallace moved into their Atlanta home just four months ago and are expected to marry in September. Tyk has been in the family for almost four years, while Litty was adopted last year.

As for "Olive Juice," no release date has been set as of yet. Karvounis said that the movie's soundtrack, produced by Littrell and Wallace, has now been completed, but he declined to release any further details.

July 20: The Fight of the Boybands in Sweden

Source: Expressen

They are competitors on the boyband-scene.

But when they are to record new albums, both the Backstreet Boys and Westlife comes to Stockholm. The competition doesn’t stop them from both sharing hotel and studio.

The reason that both groups come to the Swedish capital when it’s time to record albums, is of course the nowadays world-famous Cheiron-studio on Kungsholmen in central Stockholm. Bands all over the world would give anything to work with the producers and song-writers who work there.

The artists should be seen but the guys who stand behind many of the number-ones in the world are keeping a low profile.

- We do our job and the artists do their. And they are the ones who should be seen.

- Our job is to make a product as good possible, and the bands job is to market it, producer David Kreuger says. Along with Per Magnusson and Jörgen Elofsson, he stands behind several of the songs that have made Irish Westlife the ones that they are today.

Westlife is the nicest

- They contacted us early so you can say that we have helped forming, Per Magnusson says.

The trio have been on Cheiron since –93 and have made music for, among others, Backstreet Boys, Boyzone and Britney Spears. Except for Westlife then.

- They are the absolute nicest band to work with, because the guys are so nice and their music-taste is so close to our own, Jörgen Elofsson says.

Mutual respect

The respect is mutual, which is understood by he fact that Westlife returns before every album, just as the Backstreet Boys. This time coincided the stay, and the band share the hotel and the studio. Two big boybands in Stockholm at the same time is almost too much for the teenage girls who follow them and spend the summerweeks outside the studio.

- It’s a pretty special environment here. You go to your work, and outside the door it’s lying young girls who you have to step over, that’s not happening everywhere, Per Magnusson establishes.

Victoria Held Court for the Boys

Source: Aftonbladet

Royal fun, Backstreet Boys. Crownprincess Vistoria weren't shy when she said hello to her favourites Backstreet Boys- here Kevin, AJ and Howie- in the studio. She laughed and joked, one of the producers in the Cheironstudio says. The Crown princess secretly visited the idols in the studio

The Backstreet Boys have become purveyors to His Majesty the King. The Crownprincess secretly visited the boybands studio the day before yesterday. She stayed for three hours.

On Victoria-day, the 14th of July, entertained Electric Banana Band on Sollidens stage. The Backstreet Boys were asked but they said no. The group has been in Stockholm to record parts of their new album with producer Max Martin. Therefore they hadn’t the time to show up on the Crownprincess birthday so instead they invited her to the studio. - The band and Victoria had great time together, one of the Cheiron producers tells.

“She laughed and joked”
-But not much work was done while the Princess was in the studio. She is very open and funny, and she and the band sat and laughed and joked. Outside the studio have the fans been standing almost 24 hours a day for the past three weeks the Backstreet Boys has been in Sweden.
The Crownprincess arrived with her Säpo-guards.
- Backstreet Boys travels in two black buses, so none of the fans cared when an ordinary car drove past the fence, the Cheironproducer says. The Crownprincess got to follow the recording and she was very impressed. - She hadn’t realised how much work it is behind a recording. She really liked the song we recorded when she was there. Afterwards she and the guys sat and talked and sometimes the volume got so high that Max Martin told them to keep it down.

Almost as old friends
- It wasn’t stiff in any way?
- No, not at all. Most people get nervous when they meet the band, but not Victoria. She had so much fun that she stayed for three hours. The Crownprincess hadn’t met the Backstreet Boys before, but it seemed as they were best friends. The Backstreet Boys left for the States early today

July 19: Teenage Fan Acts with Brian

Source: World Entertainment News Network

Brian Littrell was "shaking with nerves" when he made his movie debut - but the Backstreet Boy was still able to calm a prize-winning fan down enough to shoot her scenes.

Thirteen-year-old Amber Boquiren won the chance to star with Littrell's fiance Leighanne Wallace in her latest movie "Olive Juice" through a Grand Prize draw she accidentally entered when she bought a poster of her idol - Littrell.

The teenager was terrified when it came to shooting her scenes but Littrell, who has a cameo role driving a horse and carriage in the flick, was on hand to calm her down.

Boquiren says, "All I had to do was push someone in a wheelchair across a street and thank someone else for getting out the way but I was really nervous."

"Brian was very supportive even though he was terrified himself. He told me he was nervous when he shot his scene and that I should just relax and take a deep breath."

And the teenager put her own feelings aside and wished Littrell and Wallace well on their forthcoming marriage.

Boquiren adds, "I love Brian with all my heart and I always dreamed of marrying him but I know it would have been selfish not to wish him well."

July 18: Backstreet Boys on Söder

Source: Aftonbladet

Backstreet Boys-members A.J. McLean and Brian Littrell took some time off from recording music in the Cheiron Studio in Stockholm last night. Instead they gave each other a match in bowling.
Together with two bodyguards the two stars spent a couple of hours in Rock & Bowl at Mariatorget on Söder in Stockholm. They were happy and merry and drank beer and wrote autographs.
-No, we don´t want to talk now, we are here to relax and have fun, said Brian Littrell to Aftonbladet.

July 14: Disco Honeymoon

Source: Star Magazine - July 18, 2000

By Leon Wagener

Backstreet Boy Kevin Richardson and his new bride Kristin Willits spent the first night of their honeymoon making beautiful music together - playing the bongos and dancing at a disco on the Italian island of Capri.

As these photos show, the lovebirds were filled with joy, and just like the lyrics of the band's hit song Kevin pledged "All I Have to Give" to Kristin. But they just had to share their happiness with others.

"Kevin and his bride wanted to have some fun on their honeymoon night," says an observer at the island's Anema E. Core Club.

"They danced a bit to the music of the local band."

Kevin a qualified ballroom dancing instructor, had no problem whirling his new bride around the room, say sources.

"Then they decided to entertain the crowd themselves. Kevin played the bongos and sang several of the Backstreet Boys' numbers while Kristin gyrated sexily on the dance floor, wowing the audience," says the observer.

As Kevin and Kristin, both 27, partied the night away, they couldn't keep their hands off each other. Between each song, they hugged and kissed, well.....like newlyweds.

The honeymoon is a fairytale ending for the duo, who met eight years ago while working at Disney World in Orlando, Fla.

Kevin had a gig as a dancing Ninja Turtle, while Kristin was a Beauty and the Beast chorus girl. The lovers became engaged last Valentine's Day.

Then, last month, the couple tied the knot in Kevin's hometown of Lexington, Ky.

They said "I do" at Estill County Cathedral Domain, a church camp once run by Kevin's late father, Jerald. Kevin's brother, Tim, a local minister, presided over the ceremony.

The other four Backstreet Boys - Howie Dorough, Nick Carter, A.J. McLean and Brian Littrell - all attended the wedding.

And Brian, Kevin's cousin, will soon be making the same trip. He recently announced he will walk down the aisle with actress Leighanne Wallace.

After the ceremony, Kevin and Kristin hopped a plane to Italy and their night at the romantic disco in Capri. But don't think that's all they did, say sources.

"After entertaining locals in the disco, the couple disappeared," said the source.

"They stayed behind closed doors for three days - presumably performing just for each other."

July 13: Work-outs, studiowork and intense night-life

Source: Aftonbladet

-We are happy here and we’re having a great time, Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys says. The Backstreet Boys have been in Sweden since the second of July to record for their new album with producer Max Martin.

-The recordings are doing great, Howie Dorough says. So far we have four songs.

They want to do as much as possible while in Sweden a side from recording.

The morning: The guys try to stay in shape. Some go to the gym, but Nick Carter and Brian Littrell rather play b-ball together with a couple of Swedish friends. Afternoon: They lock themselves in the studio and stay often there ‘til after midnight.

Evening/night: When they are finished in the studio, awaits often nightlife with visits at different bars, restaurants and night-clubs.

It was party all night

In Tuesday night Nick and Howie went to a party with the Irish band The Corrs who were in Stockholm to present their new album “In blue”. They both seemed happy there and it was plenty of laughter at the table where they sat with about ten Swedish girls.

-Yeah sure, we have time to meet quite many girls, says a smiling Howie.

Not until dawn Nick and Howie left the party with the girls in a dark van. Then they left for the guys hotel.

Backstreets duet in lyrics and love

Source: Worldpop

When Backstreet Boys Kevin Richardson and Howie Dorough joined US legend Lionel Richie on stage in Germany little did they realise another pop collaboration was just around the corner.

The boys joined Lionel to sing his classic hit, Easy, a favourite of the band. 'Ever since then I kept his number and kept in touch,' explains Howie. Lionel takes up the story, 'We got together and I wrote this song called Cinderella, along with a co-writer friend of mine, Joe Wolfe. All of a sudden, magic. These guys showed up in Houston and we did the song.'

Howie confesses that he's been a fan of Richie's since childhood. 'I grew up listening to him. Say You Say Me is the first song I could ever sing.' The new track, Cinderella, will be on Lionel Richie's new album scheduled for release in the autumn.

On the love duet front we have news that Kevin and his bride Kristin Willits spent the first night of their honeymoon playing the bongos and boogieing at a disco on the Italian island of Capri. After spinning Kristin around the dance floor Kevin entertained holidaymakers by singing several Backstreet Boy numbers. An observer remarked that Kev and Kristin 'couldn't keep their hands off each other.'

Kevin's cousin, Brian Littrell, is expected to be the next Backstreet Boy to walk up the aisle following his announcement of future wedding plans with actress, Leighanne Wallace.

July 12: Backstreet Boys wild party last night

Backstreet Boys-members Howie Dorough and Nick Carter was on a party for The Corrs. But it didn´t turn out the way they wanted it:
-We should have met The Corrs, but they had left when we got here, said Howie before he and Nick left the night club. Then they jumped in a dark van with some young girls and left the place.

July 11: Backstreet´s Back!

YES... BSB are now back in Sweden, they camed back yesterday I think and this time A.J. is here too :-). Now they are gonna continue to work here in Sweden on their 4th album for one more week, I think they are gonna go to London after that, I´m not sure. I think this album is gonna be SO GOOD! DA BOMB! :-)!

July 10: Party In The Park!!!

Yesterday it was Party In The Park! And Backstreet Boys was DA BOMB...!!!
First when they were gonna come out they didn´t, I think they wasn´t ready or something, ´cause you could hear them sing and Elton playing the piano, but they weren´t comming... YET! The presenter kept on saying: Who do you wanna see? And they crowd of 100 000 people screamed: BACKSTREET BOYS! Finally they camed out and sang two songs with Elton John, well, then they sang two of their own songs with Elton John also, becuase A.J. wasn´t there and why... that explained Kevin:
"As everyone may notice we´re missing one Backstreet Boy today. A.J. couldn´t be with us, we don´t want any roumors getting started. We´re not breaking up. We´re making a new album right now, but A.J. is back home in the United States. His grandfather just had a very, very serious surgery. So he´s back home with his grandfather." And then he said instead of A.J. they had E.J. (Elton John) :-)
And that´s the reason, Kevin is so sweet, ´cause he don´t want us fans to worry for nothing!
They sang first "The One" and then "I Want It That Way"! It was the best and just when they were going off stage Kevin said: "We´ll see you in a couple of months". What did he mean by that?! Well, we just have to wait and find out, don´t we?
Roumors has said that Backstreet Boys are now back in the studio in Sweden, but I don´t know if that´s true, I´ll keep you posted.

And then when two of them arrives, Nick Carter and Howie Dorough, hysteria breaks out. The girls push the fence to get closer to the band. They sign a coule of autographs and the goes into the stuido.

BSB in Sweden as AJ launches website

Source: worldpop

As Backstreet Boys begin work on their new album in Sweden, Johnny No-Name, the fictional rock star created by AJ McLean, has hit the information superhighway.

He may not exist, but Mr No Name has his own website - you can read about the hard rock alter ego of BSB AJ McLean at www.johnnyno-name.com. AJ introduced the fictional British rock star late last year and recently completed a nine-date US tour as Johnny No-Name, with monies raised going to the Save The Music fund.

But AJ's not stopping there, also planning to co-host the Miss United States Teen Competition in Orlando on 22 July. In other Backstreet Boys news, the boy band arrived in Sweden on Sunday to record at Max Martin's famed Cheiron Studios, in the run-up to Sunday's performance at London's Party In The Park with Elton John.

July 3: They are ALL here!

I watched the news yesterday and they had BSB on it!
First the showed fans that stood outside the hotel and the Nick and Howie camed. Howie said: Välkommen till Sverige (wich means Welcome to Sweden). They were both so cute and I´m so sad I can´t be there, but maybe next week... maybe!

It's D-Day for the Backstreet Boys. Today's the day they're due to begin work on their new album in a recording studio in Sweden. The group have once more teamed up with Swedish producer, Max Martin, for their follow-up to last year’s multi-million selling Millennium album.

Meanwhile, The Official Backstreet Boys Photo Album is released on 5 July, chronicling the group's six-year history and includes candid photos of the boys featuring, um, one of AJ McLean taking a bubble bath. However, Howie Dorough says he told official photographer, Andre Csillag, that some things were off limits. 'When I go to the bathroom I have to tell him he can't come into the stall with me ... cos this is a PG programme. Andre has been like a fly on the wall for the past six years.'
