Shower
In
Tanzania I did it in rainwater.
Over there they collect it in huge cisterns during the
rain periods.
I lived by Lake Victoria, so going for a swim was
tempting. But it´s inhabited by parasites.
Not a good idea.
So when I wanted to shower I filled buckets with
boiled water from the cisterns, and brought them into
the room used as bathroom.
You´d moist up a bit, soap and then rinse it off.
Up pretty close and personal, compared to my shower
at home.
There are no rivers close to where I live.
No seas to bathe in.
We´re not living close to where the water is anymore.
We´ve made it close to ourselves.
Taken the river into our houses.
I can stand for awhile in the shower.
15 minutes at least. 20 is better.
And I think it´s an important part of life, feeling the
water all around you. Being by yourself, touching
yourself. Feeling good, and feeling that you feel good.
Being connected to yourself.
And the warmth of course.
I like my shower hot. As hot as I can stand. So hot it
makes me dizzy soaking it up.
It´s good for singing as well. Lets me live out the tune
currently on my mind. I always sing in the shower.
I like showering in the dark. Absolute blackness, and heat.
It´s a good combination.
It could be seen as
wasting water, but I think it´s
using it. We tend to do far worse things to our waters,
and that which we use to shower in can be recycled
incessantly.
