Chapter 41 . . . THE END

Sarah was floating above her own casket. She couldn’t believe this. She had a pretty good turnout for her funeral. She almost started crying watching everyone that meant the world to her crying all at the same time over the same thing, her. She was allowed to come back one last time to see everyone. They gave her the chance to say goodbye to one last person before she left. She looked around and at everyone there. All the Hanson’s were together crying. Her parents and relatives were sobbing as well. Cass and Micky were holding each other crying and JC had one hand on Micky’s shoulder and holding Cass’s hand with the other. All of Nsync looked somber and void along with the BSB. Kendall was crying and Lance had his arms wrapped around her waist. Sarah grinned hoping they would last. Her friends were all crying holding and hugging each other. It started to end and Isaac stayed behind. Good Sarah thought waiting for everyone to leave.

Isaac just stared at the coffin. It was beautiful purplish/white. Almost like the coffin was made out of opal. Her parents picked it out because it looked like her birthstone. Isaac just sat there in his seat completely entranced. He noticed everyone around him had left. He stood up and blinked. He noticed something misty above her casket. He walked towards it and tried to touch the mist. The mist was warm, not cold like the water would be. He felt as though Sarah was here. Not her body but her spirit was with. He shook his head of the thought and right before he turned around he heard a voice no higher than a whisper but it was Sarah’s voice without a doubt. “I love you, good-bye for now.” He closed his eyes and let his tears fall down his cheeks for a minute. He wiped his eyes and looked and the mist was gone. Not a drop of water was on the casket to prove that the haze had been there. Isaac wiped his eyes and smiled, he knew even though she wasn’t there physically she would always be there. It’s just a matter of how you look. With your heart not your eyes. He kissed his two fingertips and touched them to the casket. He then turned away smiling. Everything would be ok and he knew it.

Everyone was at the get together later that night. Some people stopped crying and others started. They were all at Sarah’s house. Isaac was on the couch holding a sleeping Jessica. Diana was helping Sarah’s mother with stuff. Both her parents were almost hitting their breaking point and ready to go into a hysterical nervous breakdown. He laid Jess down carefully and walked up the stairs to her bedroom. Inside Kendall was sitting on her bed crying. Isaac didn’t expect anyone other than him to be in it. “Hello.” Were all he said and she just about jumped a good foot. “Hey,” she said when she went into a normal breathing pattern. “I’m sorry if I scared you.” “No, for a minute I didn’t pay attention to the pitch and I thought it was Sarah.” “Oh alright.” Ike said sitting on her bed. He looked around and walked over to her bay windows. He lifted up the pillow cushions. “What are you doing?” Kendall asked horrified that he was ‘touching’ Sarah’s things. “Come here.” She walked over to him. Inside was a little trap door.

“When we were younger we always wished that we had somewhere to store our ‘secret stuff’. Of course it was mostly stupid things like drawings and goofy notes to each other. So one day when her parents were gone we took her Dad’s saw and sawed a square hole in the wood. Then she took the hinges off one of her old jewelry boxes and I screwed those in. I’m surprised, they have held ever since very well. It was cute actually.” He lifted and showed her the door. He lifted up the little door to see what was in it. All there was 4 notebooks tied together with twine. One wasn’t and had a paper clip in it. “What the heck is this?” Ike asked lifting them up. “MY DIARY” was on the top notebook. “It’s her series of notebooks.” Kendall said, “she mentioned she had novel sized diaries and we kidded about that occasionally. She said that whomever wanted to could read them after she was gone.” Ike held them all and opened the door. It sounded like they were going to be there for quite awhile. “Let’s start?” Ike said. “I guess, are you sure it’s not too soon?” “Maybe, maybe not. But she gave us permission.” Kendall took the first one on top. “The one not tied must be the soonest one.” Ike flipped it open. “Yea, it stops the night before she went to the hospital.”

They both sat there reading from the very beginning. Only they would read these and know about these until they thought the time was right to tell people.
