Reason for running: I wish to continue my service role here at ECU. If elected, I will be able to work behind the scenes to assist ECU in this transitional period-allowing for studet life to be improved greatly.
Dear fellow students of East Carolina University,
My name is Ian Baer and I am President of “Ticket A” for the student body government of East Carolina University, in my opinion the greatest school in the world! It has been a pleasure to serve my fellow students on the student senate this past year, and I look forward to serving you again next year as well. There has been a lot of negative campaigning for this very important student government election, but let me assure you I have not nor will not have any part of it! It has always been my opinion that good leaders are those individuals who have a positive influence on a situation, and do it with a positive attitude! My team of Candace Drake, John Longley and Shannon O'Donnell all have both the experience in student government and within our own student organizations, in addition to the positive attitudes and fortitude necessary to make needed changes around the campus of East Carolina.
We recognize that there are some much needed changes that must be made here at East Carolina, but unlike some other candidates we refuse to trash talk past administrations and would rather look to them as examples and plan to grow from them. Communication, leadership, teamwork and a positive attitude are the only way that these much needed changes will be accomplished! Attributes that all members of our ticket possess and exemplify.
I have many important issues I would like to educate my fellow students about! There have been some fallacies created by other misinformed candidates, circulating around this campaign that I would like to help clear up. I invite you to read through my team’s web site where you will find a copy of our platform for some needed changes! Please BAER with us because our web site is still under construction. We have been dovoting every spare moment to coming up with ideas to improve student life as a whole.
I appreciate your time!
Sincerely,
Ian Baer
Student Body President Candidate
