Patent No: US 6,347,904 B1                                              Date Of Patent: Feb19, 2002

Welcome to Barfly Rigging systems. The barfly is a safe and effective method for the handling and placing of all types of rebar structures. The barfly was designed and patented by crane operator George S. Knighton.  Using the Barfly prevents slipping and possible collapsing of rebar structures when being hoisted and placed by cranes. Using the Barfly is much faster and safer than conventional rigging used for the same purpose.

When in place the barfly holds the vertical bar as well as the horizontal bar, unlike common rigging procedures where only the horizontal bar is carrying the entire load, putting extreme loads on the wire used to hold the structure together. We have tested a single unit to 18,000lbs. on a #7 rebar and it didn't break lose.
