The Pearls of Lutra

The Pearls of Lutra begins when the young hogmaid Tansy, and her friend a very young squirrel named Arven, discover a ferret skeleton. But on the isle of Sampetra, where evil emperor Ublaz reigns over his army of tropical lizards and vermin, something that is also important is happening. Ublaz may have a huge army, but there is something that he wants more, the pearls of Lutra. He has already killed the entire Holt of Lutra, but the rat he has sent to fetch the Pearls has not yet returned. He has also made another mistake, he has thought of Grath Longfletch, the last living member of Holt Lutra, to be dead. She seeks revenge upon Ublaz and is working her way to Sampetra. Mean while at Redwall, Martin the 2nd, Mattimeo's son, has examined the ferret skeleton and found a spoon that had belonged to Fermald the Ancient, an elderly Redwaller who had died a few seasons ago.
