The Long Patrol

The story begins at camp Tussock, a fort owned by the Long Patrol of Salamandastron. This is where the hero Tammello De Fformelo Tussock, son of Colonel Cornspurrey De Fformelo Tussock, lives. Tammo wanted to join the Long Patrol so badly that he would run away just to join. But his father did not want him to join because he thought that Tammo was too young. But Tammo's mother believed that she should encourage anything that Tammo wanted to do. So she gives Tammo her Long patrol dirk, and had Russa Nodrey (a squirrel friend of the family) take him off to join the Long Patrol. Meanwhile at Redwall Abbey the south wall was sinking and neither Abbess Tansy, nor Arven the Warrior can figure out why! Also on the coast Gormad Tunn, the famous leader of the great Rapscallion army was mortally wounded by the current badger lord of Salamandastron, Cregga Rose Eyes. While he dies his two sons Damug and Byral prepare themselves for a fight to the death to see who will lead the army. To find out how these three stories mix, read The Long Patrol by Brian Jacques!
