Mossflower
Mossflower is part of the story of Martin the Warrior, a hero of redwall. The story begins with Martin, who has no memory or anything except for a rusty sword that was his fathers, walking down a road and entering Mossflower. When he enters Mossflower Verdauga, King of the Thousand eyes, a wildcat who rules his fortress, Kotir, and all of Mossflower, almost immediately captures him. But Verdauga is near death and his successor will either be his sensible son, Gingerer, or his ruthless daughter, Tsarmina. When Martin is captured, Gingivere demands him a fair trial and a chance to speak. But Tsarmina immediately snaps Martins rusty sword in half, and has him imprisoned in the dark and damp dungeons of Kotir. Tsarmina quickly makes a deal with Verdauga's healer, and has her father poisoned. After this Martin meets Gonff the mousethief, who got captured by some of Tsarmina's men for stealing food from Kotir, and they quickly become friends. Not long after, they escape, and Martin, very angry with Tsarmina, begins to raise an army from the surrounding people in Mossflower. To find out what happens, read Mossflower by Brian Jacques!
