~ Two years later -- LAPD headquarter -- 11:30 am ~
Lori walks in the office, "Hi guys! I bought you guys lunch..."
Nick hears her and turns around. "Lori?" He kneels down before her and put his ears next to Lori's big tummy, "How are my babies doing today?" Lori is seven months pregnant. They are expecting their first babies, fraternal twins that are due two months later.
"Lori, I guess there's somebody you wanna see."
"Who?" And she sees David going up to her. He gives her a hug. He just came back from England after his three years of forensic science studies. He left for England to relax himself not long after Lori started to go out with Nick.
"Wow... Lori, time flies, can't believe you're a mom-to-be already."
"Dav, it's nice to see you again."
All of a sudden, they hear gun-shots. A suspect is escaping and got a gun from one of the guards. He passes by Lori and accidentally pushes her down to the ground. Lori feels tremendous pain, she sees the gun the suspect dropped just now, so she picks it up and shoots the suspect down.
"Wow, good job Lori! That's is so cool." Kevin says. But as everyone turns around, they see no one standing there. They walk up to where Lori should be and find her sitting on the ground, leaning against a desk, sweating and feeling great pain.
"Lori, what's wrong?" Nick says as he notices blood running down Lori's legs.
"Nick... the babies... I'm in great pain..."
"I'll get you to the hospital!"
Everybody is waiting impatiently. Especially Nick, he's walking back and forth, really worry about his wife. The doctor says as Lori hits the ground, the babies' positions move, and so Lori gotta deliver the babies right away.
Even though everybody is standing outside, they could hear Lori screaming inside, being in great pain. After a while, the room is so quiet and the doctor steps out.
"Congradulations Mr. Carter. Mrs. Carter has gave birth to a baby boy and a baby girl. Both mother and child are safe."
Everybody relief and go up to Nick to congradulate him.
Nick goes into Lori's room and look at their babies, Lori wakes up and asks, "Nick, how are the babies?"
"They're alright Lori." He pushes the babies beds next to Lori, "look, they're so cute."
Lori smiles, looking at their baby.
Nick gives Lori a kiss on her forehead, "thanks Lori... thanks for everything..."
Nick and Lori named their child Steven Gene Carter, and Autumn Love Carter. Steven grows up to be a cop, being another Carter legend in the world of LAPD just like his dad. Autumn grows up to be a very successful doctor. The love story of Nick and Lori has become a famous story in LA, but no matter what, their love is gonna last forever and ever.
