what
AARON learned from his big bro!
Nick helped Aaron deal with nerves, rejection, and more!

If
there's one person 13-year-old Aaron misses the most when he's on
the road, it's his older brother, Nick.
WIth both bros touring at the same timem it's hard for
them to meet up, but they make it a point to see each other.
staying
tight
Aaron
tries to catch up with Nick whenever he can. "It's like one
in a million when we're in the same country," says Aaron.
"If I hadn't seen Nick for like four months, I'd pay with my
own money just to go see him for a day." They have lucked
out recently because they've been performing in the same area of
the country.
Aaron cherishes time with Nick; the older Backstreet Boy has
always been there to give Aaron advice on performing. "He's
so cool," says Aaron. "He's always helping me out with
things." For instance, Nick gives his little bro pep talks
about stage fright (yes, Aaron and Nick get performance jitters).
Nick's advice: picture an empty stadium and it won't be so scary.
Plus, it was Nick who helped give this "party guy" his
start in music.
making
it on his own
Aaron
often went with Nick to rehersals. He learned how fun it was to
sing and dance in front of thousands of people. He thought,
"I can do that."
Aaron says: "I wanted to be doing what Nick was doing. I was
jealous. I wanted to be exactly like him, so Nick got me into the
business." But he learned he didn't need to be "exactly
like Nick" to get fans. And look how far he's come! This
5'8" singer knows what it took to get where he is today --
hard work.
"A lot of people, they say, 'your brother's in BSB, you get
it handed to you on a silver platter,'" says Aaron.
"But it's not exactly like that. It took me five years to
get to where I am." Nick gives his bro lots of love, advice
and support, but Aaron's real success comes from... Aaron!
