Chapter Three - Down To Earth
"Well... it's not such a big deal Brian... remember I was talking to Lori just now?" Nick said.
"Yea... what about it?" Brian asked.
"Miguel walked over and stared at me... think I'm looking at Lori or something." Nick said.
"Maybe he's just over-reacting... forget it Nick, we still gotta work together." Brian said.
"I know Brian... it just makes me feel a little weird, that's all."
"You're not interested in Lori, are you? It's just a week since we start working together." Brian asked.
"Well, Brian, do you believe in love at first sight?" Nick asked.
"Well..." Brian said as he stands up from the chair, "Don't think that much Nick, if things are meant to happen, nothing can stop them, but if they're not, no one can do anything to force it to happen either."
"That's true Brian."
~ The night before the first concert -- 10:00 pm ~
<Hello... this is Miguel Stewart. I'm not available right now, please leave me a message and I'll call you back.>
Lori sighed and put her cell phone back in her pocket. She walks back to the rehersal room. Although they've rehersal for 3 weeks already, Lori is very nervous about going on tour with BSB, they're gonna be the largest concerts she'd ever done in her life. She wanna practice more. Miguel is suppose to pick her up for dinner 3 hours ago, but he never shows up. She picks up her drumsticks and start playing.
Nick walks in the building. He had left his house keys in the rehersal room. He heard someone playing drums as he approaches the rehersal room. He slowly walks over and finds Lori in the room.
As Lori finishes, she heard applauses. She looks over to the door and sees Nick.
"Hey Lori... good job!" He said.
"Nick? What are you doing here?" Lori asked.
"I left my keys here..." He makes his way to the couch and picks up the keys, "So... why are you still here then Lori?"
"Miguel is suppose to pick me up at 7, but he never shows up... I'm worry about him." Lori answered.
"You must be joking Lori. Miguel just had dinner with us and just went clubbing with the others." Nick said surprisingly.
Lori looks shocked, and very disappointed. "Oh... I'll go home by myself then."
"Wait Lori... you have dinner yet?"
"Nope... I guess I'll just go get something on my way home."
"Come on... come with me... I'll bring you somewhere special to eat."
Lori gets in Nick's car. Nick drives to McDonald's and stops.
"McDonald's? That's what you mean by special?" Lori jokes.
"You know... it's kinda special to me to actually sit there inside McDonald's and eat... I usually got take-outs." Nick said.
"I'm just kidding Nick, everything is fine for me. Let's go!" Lori unties her seat belt and gets off the car.
Because of the fact that it is kinda late, not a lot of people are at McDonald's. Only a couple of girls come in, recognizes Nick and ask him for autographs. Although it is just a simple meal. Lori feels really happy and relax. She finds out that Nick is actually very down-to-earth. He's just like a normal 21-year-old. After the meal, Nick drives Lori home.
"Thanks Nick for the ride, and the 'special' meal..." Lori said as Nick walks her to the door.
"Oh goodness, you're never gonna let that one down! Anyways, I had a really great time, bye Lori."
"Bye and good night Nick." Lori enters her house.
