I hired an attorney named
Theresa McGehee in Durant, Oklahoma to take on the case as I believed minor
children should remain in school until age 18 or until they graduate from High
School. I had sent all the documents
you have read above to her. Her assistant
read the documents but apparently Theresa McGehee never did even though she
charged me $2,500.00 to do the case.
Her assistant filed the following papers through the Pushmataha County
Courthouse with the understanding that again, I did not want Lowell R. Burgess
Jr., to be the presiding judge. I was
assured he was no longer a judge but in private practice in Antlers,
Oklahoma. I did not send Theresa
Katijo's last e-mail with Vernon Alfred Cole as read above but her first e-mail
where she got scared for her mom. Also
I did not send her the actual Court Transcripts of the case, but scanned in
images of it that she refused to read but her assistant did. They filed the following papers.

According to the main office
downstairs of the Pushmataha County Courthouse, on Thursday, June 20th, they
had notified every attorney that court will not take place as Doyle Blythe was
removed from the bench and there was no judge to hear the case. Theresa McGehee failed to tell me on
Thursday June 20th after being notified, failed on Friday June 21st, and on
Saturday, June 22nd before I caught my plane to Oklahoma on June 23rd.
I met Theresa McGehee in her
office on Monday June 24th at 17:00 hours CST in Durant, Oklahoma with my Aunt
Roxanna C. Jones 222 N. Kentucky St
Atoka, OK 74525 Phone (580)
889-1995. Again she did not tell
me that court would not take place.
Instead she made it where I was to meet her at 13:00 hours (1:00 p.m.)
CST at the Pushmataha County Courthouse on the second floor. I gave her my aunt's phone number and
left. I had told her secretary that I
would be leaving Oklahoma on Saturday June 29th to go to Graham, Texas on U.S.
Highway 380 and spend the night with family there before catching my plane the
next day.
On Tuesday June 25th, I left
Roxanna Jones residence at 12:15 p.m. and drove straight to Antlers,
Oklahoma. I arrived to the courthouse
at 13:10 hours (1:10 p.m.) where I was ten minutes late and went upstairs. On the bench in the hallway I saw Kathy, her
sister Billie and a blond headed girl sitting.
Finally by 1:10 p.m. I went into the court clerks office and asked if
she had seen Theresa McGehee. The woman
told me to wait just a minute, stepped into the hallway and spoke to Kathy, her
older sister Billie and the blond headed girl.
All three females rushed downstairs as fast as they could and the woman
came back into her office and told me I needed to call my lawyer. I was very shocked and surprised. I then went downstairs and the people told
me they had notified every attorney listed on the court docket the Thursday
prior that all court cases had been cancelled.
I used their phone and called Theresa McGehee's office in Durant. Her assistant answered then put Theresa
McGehee on the phone. Theresa then told
me she did not learn till that morning that court had been cancelled, claimed
she tried to call me and for me to get out of there as fast as I could.
According to the answering
machine on my home phone in Franklin, North Carolina; Theresa McGehee then
called my house and left word that court hand been cancelled at 1:20 p.m. which
was after I got off the phone from her.
Then based on the caller ID on the phone of Roxanna Jones, Theresa
McGehee called her number at 1:24 p.m.
So I had to wonder why she would make those phone calls after I got off
the phone from her at the courthouse?????
I went back to Atoka,
Oklahoma and called Theresa McGehee back.
I was told she was not there but in court in Durant, Oklahoma but that I
was wrong, according to Oklahoma law, a child can drop out of school after age
12 for any reason and it was none of my business. That night Carl Jones called his attorney Larry Grant in
Atoka. Larry Grant said Theresa
McGehee's office was wrong in making that statement under Title 10 of the
Oklahoma State Statutes. That they must
remain in school until they graduate from high school or turn age 18.
The next day I went to Larry
Grant's Office and talked to him. I
then was quoted his price for handling it would only be $1,500 as compared to
Theresa charging me $2,500 for not doing a thing. He told me to go to Theresa's office and get my papers back and dismiss
her from the case. I did and kept word
that I would not tell her who was taking over.
When I got to Durant,
Oklahoma Theresa was there. I told her
that based on this experience and she not telling me Thursday, Friday, or
Saturday before flying to Oklahoma that court was cancelled, that she was off
the case and I wanted my papers back.
She stated that she expected to be fired and handed me the documents
back to include the Official Court Transcripts I brought with me after asking
her assistant if I needed to bring any of the actual papers with me and she
said no, they had everything and then on Monday, the day before the hearing,
Theresa said yes to the transcripts.
Again, a professional trained attorney who graduated from law school,
well trained, should have answered that over the phone before I made the
trip. Not me playing guessing games
with her assistant.
