          Redemption has finally come for High Impact Wrestling and all of its superstars.   June 13, 2002 will be forever marked as the day in which the most feared man in HIW history made his return.  A grudge match of legendary proportions was finally settled in a grueling 'I Quit' match.  A power trip was finally ended or so we thought, and a fighting champion's title was taken as a new reign of destruction emerged.  This was Redemption 2002 presented live from the HIW Arena.

     Preston Hotbox and Assault were cutting their usual arrogant promo the new comer The E-xecutioner made a bold move by interrupting them, stating that he wanted to change his name.  Preston assigned Assault to a warm-up match in which if he beat the new comer then he and Preston would choose the new name.

• Assault Vs. E-xecutioner-  Total dominance by the "Superbeast" of HIW which almost caused a severe neck injury to the new comer.  Assault's win was never in jeopardy as he crushed his challenger and after Preston's 3 count he earnd the right to choose E-xecutioner's new name.  X pleaded to have it changed to Rage but this simply gave Preston the idea to make his new name Rage(ing Homosexual).
  
  Axl Vs. Venom (Non-Title Match)-  This match was ordered by commissioner Hotbox as a way to soften up the HIW champion Axl for his later title defense against Assault.  Venom targeted Axl's back throughout the match and was obviously sent out not to win the match but to weaken the 'Hardcore Superstar'.  Axl gets the win but was clearly in severe pain.
  
  Raging Homosexual Vs. Young Dragon-  Rage was out to prove a point that not only does he deserve respect from the HIW locker room but respect from HIW management as well.  The up and comer scores the upset and gets his first win in HIW.
  
  Mimic Vs. Preston Hotbox-  The long lasting feud between these two reached its boiling point at Redemption.  Mimic did not only want to beat the Commissioner but to humiliate him as well.  Despite some surprising offense from the political figure of HIW, Mimic was still too much and brutalized his opponent for the win.  However, the post match celebration for Mimic was cut short as he returned to the ring to further taunt Preston, the events that followed the shook the foundation of HIW.  Sitting on the ground Preston pointed behind Mimic, many fans expecting Assault to be waiting.  Instead, Khan-Vict made his return to the HIW Arena with his trade mark Singapore cane and desecrated the weakened Mimic.
  
  Punisher Vs. Showtime- "The Legendary Grudge Match":  Fresh off a non-sanctioned ladder match victory at HIW's last show Showtime had momentum on his side.  Both men pulled out all the offense they could think of in this 'I Quit' Match.  Neither man seemed to be able to keep the advantage on his side for long.  Showtime went for the more practical strategy of making Punisher tap with leg locks which also took out Punisher's aerial offense.  Punisher seemed to beat Showtime into submission, when Showtime wasn’t able to respond.  The decision was made by the HIW ref. to award the match to Punisher but he seemed anything but the winner as he fell to the mat right after his hand was raised in triumph.
  
  Khan-Vict Vs. Mimic-  In a match that defined brutality and set new standard for pain.  We saw Khan-Vict make a successful return match as he beat Mimic with a relentless assault of canes, chairs, and anything he could find.  Where Khan-Vict lacked in ring skills due to ring rust he made up for with carnage that could only be described as savage.
  
  Axl (Champion) Vs. Assault-  A match four years in the making finally climaxed at Redemption.  The challenger looked more ready then ever, whereas the already beaten champion was attacked by Preston from behind with a Singapore cane during his entrance.  Assault never backed down and kept a fast paced match-up that worked in his favor.  He targeted the injured back of the champion and went to desperate measures to win the belt.  After kicking out of a dragon suplex threw a table and a severe spinal trauma on the ground the champion was on the verge of defeat and looked more vulnerable then ever before in his five month title reign.  One more Severe Spinal Trauma claimed the victory and the HIW heavyweight title.
