STATION 9
ORGANIZED 1977

Station 9 opened in 1977. There are 3 firefighters and 1 officer assigned daily to Station 9. Station 9 is located adjacent to Fire Administration and the Training Academy. Station 9 frequently assists with recruit training at the academy. Station Nine covers a largely residential district with some commercial buildings. Station Nine also responds second due to downtown and first due to parts of Interstate 85. Station Nine’s district is the site of the newest and largest residential subdivision. When completed, the subdivision will add over five hundred new homes to the district. Station Nine also responds to the City of Durham Waste Water Treatment plant and the city landfill.
