STATION 14
ORGANIZED 1997

Engine 14 was put in service in 1997 at Station 7. Station 14 opened in 2000 to cover parts of the North Durham area that was newly annexed.

Station 14 is staffed with one engine company and has a daily staffing of 3 firefighters and 1 officer. Station 14 houses the department’s swift water rescue team. A swift water rescue van, and pickup that tows boat is cross-manned with the personnel from Engine 14 in the event of a swift water rescue call. Station 14 covers a predominantly residential community with some light commercial and two nursing homes. Engine 14 covers Treyburn, the most affluent residential community in Durham. Station 14 also responds automatic mutual aid with a nearby volunteer fire department for any structure fire call that is dispatched.
