 2901 S. MIAMI BLVD. DURHAM NC 27713 "RTP" ENG13INE Engine CO. 13 was placed in service in 1998 to protect the growing population in southeast Durham and to protect parts of the recently annexed Research Triangle Park (RTP). Station 13's population swells tremendously during the day as thousands of commuters pour into RTP. Industry in Research Triangle Park includes pharmecuticals, agriculture, aircraft engine manufacturing and several United States Government research facilities. Engine 13 also covers Interstate 40, a major thoroughfare between Durham, Research Triangle Park and Raleigh. Station 13 is also within five miles of Raleigh Durham Airport (RDU).
