I get a lot of looks when I call myself "freaky", or when people see "freakyb" on my licence plate. I've even had some people assume that "freaky" is some sort of sexual reference...It's not.

| I never claim to be better than anyone. I never claimed to be stronger than anyone. I never claimed to be anything but totally on fire and secure with my relationship with God. If you want to know about him, ask me. If you want to argue and convince me that I'm following a myth, don't bother, I'll blow you off . While you're up at night drinking to dull the pain, and rolling around with your bed buddy of the week to convince yourself someone actually cares about you--- I'll be happy without all that. | I talked to one of my friends about what freaky means, and what I'm all about. The following is response. I figured it'd be good to post.
and i guess its also b/c i really don’t care about the world - i don’t care where we’re going , what’s going on, whatever. I’m not out to save the world, i know that god and i will succeed, and he’ll call me home when he needs. it’s not up to me to save them the way i reach people is to be their friend, to show them that god isn’t about how thick your bible is, or how neat your hair is. i have no pulpit, i have no rings, i don’t preach about tithing is the only way, i don’t’ put my hand on people foreheads and get all sweaty faced - I’m just real, and i am who god has allowed me to be -if ppl want to turn away from god and i, that’s cool. i love god with everything i have. my goal is NOT to be how people think Christians are “supposed” to be. they are “supposed” to hate Manson and r rated movies, preach very loudly, talk about how I’m going to heaven and no one else is—if i am that, I’m a failure. the unfortunate part of that is I’m hated by a lot of conservative Christians. the really funny part is the most secure and strong Christians I’m met support me, and realize what I’m doing some of the elders in my bible study (after i said all that kinda stuff) praised god for what he has done to me. i think that real Christians realize that it takes all kinds to save all kinds. It’s the ones who are afraid that need many rules and regulations I’m not out to save everyone. I’m not out to get through to everyone. I’m out to minister and be friends to the ones who hate the church and think that it is filled with liars, two faced money grubbing back stabbers. i have felt that, and I’m a Christian. i will never renounce god, or play off my faith. i will be in a club full of drug addicted alcoholics and say I’m a Christian - and you know what - it affects them. Jesus rolled with weirdoes, and he’s given me the strength to do the same. granted, I’m seen with some weird people, but not once have i wavered in what i DO now - don’t get me wrong - we need conservative people, we need a lot of them. just like the house of representatives is made of up senators, who represent the masses - each one of us has a district, and we are responsible for that district. my district is in the shadows, where people are upset of what the church has become, and are reaching for something they’re not sure they need i was/am hated by many Christians - and i am in the same “club” as them. i have the SAME beliefs as them, and they hate me for what they think i am. i tell people that, they understand that it’s not them the church hates, its what the church THINKS they are god loves everyone, the church doesn’t i don’t defend the church, and that sets me apart. i don’t defend money grubbing “demon be gone” preachers - i am just me, and god leads me where i need to go. i don’t say that i have it all figured out, but i am no less a Christian and “fishermen of man” than anyone and god uses you for who you can reach. he uses your strengths and weaknesses to reach who you need to reach i don’t ask you to agree with my ministry, just accept it just as i accept yours - god needs us both and as Christians grow, they need diff types of Christians. god has said many things - he said that we are to be fishers of men, not saviors. god has said that HE is the way, the truth . . . . - not us |
