The Pinecrest girls’ soccer team roared to an 11-0 halftime lead on the way to a 15-1 romp at Westover Tuesday evening. Sophomore Latanya Cain led the Patriots with four goals and two assists in the Mid-Southeastern Conference opener for both teams. A busy week for coach Lorna Martin’s squad wraps up with a non-conference match at Southern Lee tonight at 7 p.m. The Patriots, 2-1 overall, traveled to Terry Sanford on Thursday. Other Patriots enjoying big games against the Wolverines were Molly Lynch with a hat trick and two assists, Morgan Maples with a goal and two assists and Christina Consalvo with a pair of goals. Also getting into the scoring column for the Patriots were Chantelle Soto, Bonnie Jonmoore, Katelyn Burwell, Lisa Hopkins and Marissa Dotson. Soto, Brittney Dishner and Jenny Rocque were the other Patriots credited with assists.
