PINECREST CONTINUES SOCCER ROLL

The Patriots shifted to their short and narrow game in an 8-0 romp Tuesday night at Seventy-First. Pinecrest drilled on the long pass, with crosses and diagonal routes limited on the Falcon Field that challenges the minimum dimensions for prep pitches.
The Patriots spread the wealth and shuffled the lineup against the Falcons, with seven Patriots scoring and a free rotation of playing spots on the field.
Silas Cole stepped out of his usual defender’s corner and scored a pair of goals to lead the scoring.
Travis Grasso, Tommy Ransdell, Matt Sessoms, Daniel Johnson, Michael White and Brandon Zoellner each added a goal in the Patriot run.
Assists were credited to Russell Stewart, Marco Gironda, Coby Kavanaugh, Karl Ainslie, Grasso, Ransdell and Sessoms (two).
The Pinecrest junior varsity squad had an open week since Westover and Seventy-First do not field jayvee squads.
Pinecrest, 8-3-1 overall, continues conference play with a week at home, entertaining Douglas Byrd on Monday and Scotland Wednesday.
