The Pinecrest boys' soccer team will try to extend its league unbeaten string to 35 games to-night at 7 p.m. against Douglas Byrd on Senior Night. Monday, the Patriots clinched the Mid-Southeastern Conference title with a 10-0 victory at Sev-enty-First. Senior Joe Burger recorded his fifth hat trick of the season and junior Scott Martin contributed two goals and two assists. It was the team's ninth shutout win of the season. The Patriots improved to 16-2-2 overall and 12-0-1 in the league. Tonight's contest against the much improved Eagles (6-7 in the league) completes the conference regular season. There is a non-conference make-up match scheduled for next Tuesday at Fayetteville Academy. The Patriots are expected to earn a bye for the first round of the state tournament beginning next Wedneday. Burger increased his team leading offensive totals to 28 goals and 15 assists.
