Members of the squad company are certified at the EMT-I level with allows them to perform Advanced Life Support skills such as intubation, starting IV lines.
The squad company falls under command of the Ladder Company officer.
EMS - Squad responds to all EMS runs in Engine 2's first due.
Fire - Squad responds to all reported fires in the 2nd Battalion. Once on scene the squad company pairs up with the Ladder Company.
Rescue - Squad 2 is part of the city's TRT (tactical Rescue Team) and respond on all trench, high angle, confined space rescues in the 2nd battalion.
MVA - Squad 2 responds with the Engine company on all MVA's in the Engine's primary district and responds to all Extrication calls in the 2nd battalion.
