For those who prefer a quicker, more streamlined (more detailed and/or efficient) approach, there is a site directory available. Otherwise, sit back and enjoy!

This page is your gateway to many things that I find interesting - astronomy, astrophotography, education, history, cooking, holidays, etc.

I recently became a NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador, so there is a section dealing with my Ambassador activities. One of the most rewarding parts of being an Ambassador has been working with our local Boy Scout troops to assist them with their Astronomy Merit Badges. I am the also the web contact for the Sandhills Astronomical Society here in Fayetteville, and have started setting up a section of this site specifically for the Society.

There are sections of my site for students taking Comprehensive Physical Science or Modern Biology at Fayetteville State University. There are also sections for students taking the Principles of Geography course (some call it Introduction to Geography) or the Physical Geography course. Students taking Astronomy will find that there are sections for them as well.

I have been fascinated by the Titanic since the wreck was discovered in 1985, and am very proud to be the Ringmistress for The Titanic Ring.

I have created pages dedicated to some of my other interests and hobbies, to include Pearl Harbor, meteorology, Special Education, and collecting recipes. There is also a section celebrating the Spirit of America. I have created a Reading Room, where you can read original essays, articles, stories, etc.

As you can see, my site covers a wide range of material, as demonstrated by my continued interest in the theory of Atlantis. There is also a section on Native Americans. Given the fact that I am part Choctaw and Blackfoot, it seemed only appropriate.

For those interested in learning more about me, check out my personal information page. You can also see a page showing organizations to which I belong.

In addition to general lesson plans, I am creating subject-specific pages. The Social Studies, Math, and Science pages are in place, and they already have some great links on them. There is also a page dedicated to reading comprehension. Many of the sites listed here are great for all content areas. I also have a page for English as a Second Language. The sites on this page are not only helpful for the multicultural classroom, but can also be of tremendous help for teachers with students who need remediation in different areas.

I have holiday pages begun for Christmas and Halloween. Eventually, I will create more holiday pages.

My site has recently been nominated for some awards - you can see the nominations and any awards won by going to my Awards Gallery.

I also take in stray dogs and try to find homes for them. Feel free to check out pics of our recent "adoptees" at my "K's Strays" page.

If you don't find what you're looking for this time, please check back. Sooner or later, I may add just what you need. In the meantime, please feel free to send me an e-mail. I'm always interested in any comments or feedback.
