Christian Countrymen's Celebration
North Hazelwood Baptist Church

April 5, 2003
These pictures are from a special event called "Christian Countrymen's Celebration", held Saturday, April 5th, at our church. Special guests included our chief of police, our town mayor, U.S. Congressman Charles Taylor, Senator Joe Sam Queen, as well as representatives of our Armed Forces, the Boy Scouts and the Girl Scouts.
Scout members did the honors of raising the Christian flag, the North Carolina flag and the United States flag. The U.S. flag was presented to the church by Congressman Charles Taylor and has flown over the White House.
Following the raising of the flags, 1200 red, white, and blue, helium-filled balloons were released in honor or our troops. All American hotdogs and ice cream, were served in our church fellowship hall, following the ceremonies.
I hope you enjoy seeing the pictures I have included here. These weren't all of them by any means! Having a digital camera that uses floppies, I had well over 100 pictures of this event. I might include some others on another page later.
