"Dad's 25th Anniversary in Heaven"

"An Open Letter To My Dad"

Daddy,
It's been 25 years since the Lord called you Home to be with Him.
We still love you and miss you so much. You are still very
much a big part of our life each day. Never a day goes by that
you aren't thought of, and we cherish each memory we have of you.

It seems only yesterday that you were in ICU patting my
belly and introducing the nurse to your grandbaby.
Four months later your first grandson was born and just as I
told you I was going to, I named him Timothy Edgar after
his papaw. I wish you could have stayed long enough to see
him, Kristen, and Dustin, but I know it would have been hard for you,
and for us, knowing you wouldn't have felt like playing with
them and spoiling them, as you did your first two granddaughters.

I know you are at peace now and you are having a great time with
Mom and Pop, and with your brothers who have been called Home,
as well as other family members and friends too. But most
of all, you are with Jesus and I know that has to be worth it all --
the time you spent on the road with the quartet and all the
time working for the Lord. How many have you seen
who have already gone Home, that you had a small part in leading to
the Lord? I know there were hundreds who gave their hearts to
the Lord when you were singing.

I want you to know that mom just had her 80th birthday and is
in great health. I promised you I'd look after her and I'm trying.
She isn't always happy about it but I'll take care of her as
long as the Lord leaves her with us. I only wish my kids could
have known their papaw but they didn't have either of theirs.
Uncle Tom was always their papaw and now he is up there with you too.
Please give him a big hug for me and thank him for letting
them claim him as their papaw.

Well, guess I will hush. I just wanted to take this time to
let you know that even after 25 years that we will always
love you and still miss you so much. . But just know that we
"WILL" see you again one day and I can't wait.

All our love Always and Forever,
Dianne, Jerry, Tim, Kristen, Dustin and Mama
