Step One is very simple. All you have to do is pick a show that one of your favorite bands or artists is doing in your town or a town near you. Buying a ticket to the show is optional because in my experience the band normally asks if you are going to the show and if you say something like, "No, I don't have the money for a ticket. Being a broke college student sucks, man." they often ask if you want to go and when you tell them yes, they get your name to put on the guest list. If this happens, thank them profusely but don't freak out and remember to have picture I.D. ready at the will-call window.
