The next morning Pam was at the door waiting for Donna.

"Goodbye Dopey. Here, take this." She said pulling off her necklace and taking her silver cross off. She handed it to AJ.

"But you love this." He said gazing at it.

"I know, but I want you to have something to remember me by." She told him.

"Wait a minute then." He said running to his room. He came back with something in his hand.

"Take this." He said handing her a ring.

"But this is your lucky ring." She said trying to give it back.

"Yeah, I know, but I've got this now. Beside's it'll be an engagment ring. One day, me and you will get married. Ok? And that way you won't ever have to leave me again.Ok?" He said holding the cross. "Here, put it on this." He said sliding the ring on the necklace. She smiled and they hugged.

"Ok." She replied. "I'll call when I get there." She said as her mother told her it was time to leave.

"Bye." AJ said waving as they drove away.

Over the next couple of years, her mother ended up finally getting a place of their own in Maryland. Her father sold his old house and mooved out of Florida. She never saw him again. Denise and Pam both had a high phone bill because the two kids were always on the phone talking to each other.

AJ would mention audition's that he had had. After his spot on Welcome Freshman, she was so proud of him. He mentioned another boy who she had met a few time's while she still lived there.

"Hey Donny, remember Howie?" AJ said as he sat on the couch.

"Yeah, he's that older boy, the one you beat at that contest, right?" Donna replied flipping through the tv.

"Yeah, that's him. Well guess what? There's this other boy we met, named Nick, and he's a year younger than you. But we got signed to a record label." He said excited.

"Really? I hope I get to hear you guys." She replied smiling.

"Yeah, one day I'm gonna be famous and you will come to all our concerts" He said wishing it would come true.

"Ok, that's a deal." She said smiling.

But it wasn't that simple. Time went by and the two began getting their own busy lives. AJ's group expanded by two member's and they were called the Backstreet Boy's. Donna was in a lot of school activities, and dance classes. The two just seemed to grow apart from time and distance. After AJ started the group, there wasn't time to call Donna, and so he never got a chance to tell her. Donna seemed to be the same. She was too into her dance classes and chorus, and cheerleading to call AJ.

But, they never forgot one another. AJ always wore her silver cross under or over his shirt, and Donna always wore her ring, remembering the promise of it. So whenever one would get lonely of another, they had their momentums. Donna had never really been much of a 'sleep over' and 'party' kind of girl since she had mooved away from Florida. She concentrated on other things.

"Ok, I love you too mom." Donna said as she walked to the airport terminal gates.

"Are you sure you want to move away?" Pam said worried.

"Mom, I'm 20 years old. I've got to do something with my life. Florida is my home, and it's got a lot of opportunity." She told her mother. She had to explain this to her mother ever since she had decided to move down to Florida.

"I know honey. I'll miss you." She told her giving her a final hug.

"I'll miss you too. I'll call when I get down there." She said remembering the same words said to AJ.

"Ok, bye sweetie." She said finally able to leave her mother. On the flight down she fell asleep because it was a night flight. After a few hours she awoke and looked out the window. This was the first time in nine years, she was coming back home. After the plane landed she got out and was going to meet an uncle who she hadn't seen in five years.

"Uncle Tom?" She asked seeing him sitting up against a chair. He raised his head seeing her.

"Donna?" He said looking at her. "Look how you've grown." He said standing up. She could tell he was tired, it was 4:00 in the morning.

"Yeah, come on let's go, it's too late to be talking around here." She said picking her bags up. They walked to his car, and drove home making up on lost time. She told him how she was planning on a career in dancing or any type of entertainment.

"Well ya know, I've got a friend who's an agent, and he might know of some deal's going around."Her uncle said glancing over at her.

"Really? That would be great, I was planning on looking for job's around Disney or something." She said looking out the window at her old state. She hadn't realised how much she had missed it.

"Well, I'll give him a call later, and see what I can do." He said smiling. She lay her head back and fell asleep. Soon her uncle woke her up and told her she was home. She got up very grunginly and took some of her bags in. Her uncle grabbed a few and they went inside.
