A Message from Gary Cooper, President

Cherokee Mudslingers is a member run ATV Club dedicated to safe, fun and ethical ATV riding. It was formed in July of 1998 when landowners stopped OHVs from riding at a sandbar located in Gaffney, SC on the Broad River. The Club's headquarters is located in Gaffney, SC, and it is proudly associated with SCORE (South Carolina Off-Road Enthusiasts).

We get together to ride and camp almost every weekend at Brown Mountain, Wayehutta, Uwharrie, Enoree, Upper Tellico, Royal Blue, private land, or just about anywhere it is legally allowed. As of December 1999 we have 42 members. Our members range in age from 18-54. We accommodate all types of riders (sport and utility) and are planning to add dirt bikes in the near future.

Our purpose is:

To stimulate and advance the general welfare and safety of ATVing;

To provide a medium for the exchange of ATVing information;

To develop a fraternal spirit among local ATVers and other recreational interests;

To serve the interests of ATV owners;

To own or lease property for club uses;

To perform all desirable and lawful functions for the successful operation of the club and in the general public interest, and

To assist Unifour Trail Bike Club in trail maintenance at Brown Mountain OHV area.
