Physical Description: Meri-Na is rather tall for her age, at 5'9; and blind. She's a solid orange color with webbed fingers and waist-length dreads. A dorsal like fin is on the back of her head and her tail is finned a well. she wears a two-piece bikini and a piece of cloth covers her sightless eyes. She also has a walking stick to help her on land.
Background: One known as the Overlander Catherine, she was born blind. He parents spent every penny they could in an effort to help her see. Unfortunately, nothing helped. That is, until a group of doctors, told then they could restore her sight. They agreed and Catherine was sent to a medical facility. No sooner than they took her in then her parents were told something had gone horribly wrong; one of the surgeons had made a miscalculation and Catherine had died in the operation. Her parents were distraught, but Catherine was still alive; but after the 'operation' as they claimed, Catherine was no more; in her place was the aquadna, Meri-Na. However, he blindness was still present. Even though she couldn't see, her could still hear, and all the talk she heard of 'attacks' and 'victims', she didn't like what she heard. As the days went by, she figured out a plan to leave. When she was out of her daily swim, she made it look like she'd been blind sided by a shark and eaten. The Masters were severely upset by this, but thought it was just as well, thinking her 'weakness' was her downfall. When she was sure she made her 'demise' believable, she decided to keep tabs on them, just in case. Fortunately, she was given enhanced sonar abilities that could enable her to virtually 'see' everyone and everything around her. One day, when she was grabbing some lunch, she picked up what seemed to be music from a violin. Poking her head up to hear better, she heard a soft melody being played. She used her sonar to find out who it was; and learned it was the young echidnoyle, Derrek. She immediately fell in love with the music; and with him. She knows he' not quite at mating age, but when he is, she plans to let herself be known to him. But for now, she keeps her feelings for him to herself.
Other: She has a pet sugar glider by the name of Willie.
Special ability: Meri-Na carries the ability to throw a sonic pulse in all directions around her, sort of enhanced sonar. The pulse is able to pick up the tiniest physical detail of what it hits and enable her to create a mental image of her current surroundings. She can also concentrate it in one direction, making it a powerful sonic attack, capable of permanently damaging sound sensitive equipment or a person's hearing.
