The festival didn't begin until Thursday November 6th but since my house was being tented for termites on Wednesday the 5th,
I drove up from St Pete a day early. That gave me the opportunity to pick out the ideal campsite before the throngs of Riverhawkers
arrived and filled the grounds. The sky was overcast all day Wednesday and the high temperature was in the upper sixties. It was perfect
weather for setting up the tent and my somewhat complex camp shower and then catching a two hour afternoon nap.
My campsite criteria: (1) level ground (2) close proximity to a source of clean water (3) close, but not too close, to restrooms
(4) no fire ants
