LACEY WINS IN LYNCHBURG COMING FROM BEHIND
Despite a commanding three-shot lead and an opening round 22 by Greg Ward after the round, a round in which it included a perfect back nine, Kevin Lacey trailed Ward by four shots and pulled a stunning win over Ward and Robert Johnson by one shot on Saturday. Lacey used up rounds of 26, 25, and 27 and captured Ward after his lead slipped to one after the second and continued to swell in the final round despite the rounds of 28 and 29 to close.
Lacey won on Course 1 with a final score of 78. Ward and Johnson finished tied for second at 79. Andy Coradini and Matt Summey rounded out the top five at 81.
Malcolm Shumaker fashioned rounds of 30, 28, and 28 to win the APA Division for the second time this season on Saturday by two shots over Steven Jones and Robin Ventura. Jones had the first round lead at 27 before slipping with a 32 to fall into second and could not mount a comeback. Shumaker finished the afternoon off with a final score of 86, while Jones and Ventura ended up in second at 88.

BISSETTE AND PULLEY WIN WILSON ON THE FIFTH PLAYOFF HOLE
Allen Pulley's ace on the fifth playoff hole of sudden death sparked a win for his team that had Joey Bissette as his partner. The win gave Pulley his first of the season in the standings, while it added Bissette to his fourth.
Bissette and Pulley had a one-shot lead going into the final round before being chased by Gerald Vick and Aaron Olson. Vick and Olson fired a final round 27 to force a deadlock at 81 with the winning team. After both teams missed out on the first two holes, they each aced the next two holes, before Pulley came through with an ace on top of the other team to seal the victory. The team of Johnny Brown and William Lewis missed out on the playoff as they were third at 82.

RIGGINS WINS HIS SECOND IN A DOWNPOUR
Off and on thunderstorms throughout the night and a 40-minute rain delay on Course 1 made one of the most highly scored tournaments in a long time. Harold Riggins survived through the muck by winning for the second time this season with an easy four-shot win over Glenwood Arrington and Mike Pless.
Riggins posted rounds of 30, 28, and 29 to finish at 87 and capped off a four-stroke win. Arrington and Pless each shot 91 to finish in second.
The Novice Division had a really tough time with the conditions as a B Divsion player was the only player under 100 and was almost the only player who shot under par. Elbert Lowery fired rounds of 33, 35, and 31 for a nine-shot win in the B Division at 99. Mitchell Donovant was second at 108.
Roy Sigmon was the only A Division player who broke par for the entire night as held on to a two-shot win over Karen Wilson with a 107. Wilson finished at 109, while Teddy Martin came in third at 110.
Ryan Oakes had an easy victory in the C Division as he won by 21 shots over Beth Wheeler. Oakes shot an even-par final round to finish at 121, while Wheeler was second at 142.
Martinsville will play again this coming Tuesday, July 24, at 7:30pm on Course 2.
