Chris left later that week back to Denver. Amanda didn't feel like living by herself anymore. She moved in with Criss to have someone by her when she needed someone to talk to. She cried herself to sleep everynight for weeks. Criss hated seeing her like this. She needed to get over Nick or go back to him. She wanted her to feel better.
"Manders, you have to forget about Nick. If you don't want him anymore then you have to forget what happened and get on with your life."
"I've tried, but it's just so hard."
"I know Mandy, I know." She wrapped her in a hug.
"Criss I need to tell you something very important. I've thought this over and over and I'm pretty sure of what I'm doing."
Criss sat down at the kitchen table.
"Ok."
"I've decided to go back to Denver. I miss my family and friends terribly. Living in L.A. makes me more hurt with knowing Nick is near. If I'm going to get over him I can't see him."
"Are you sure you want to do this?"
"No, but it's the right thing at this moment. I'm going to miss you like crazy, you've been my best friend since I've been here. I don't know what I'm going to do without you and your comforting words."
"I'm going to miss you so much Amanda."
"I'll call every other day and I'll write you a million letters. I'll come back to LA once a month to visit."
They got up and hugged. They both were crying.
"I'm leaving next week."
"So soon?"
"Yeah, I need to." she said brushing the tears from her face.
"I'll help you pack."
Over the next few days Amanda packed up everything she owned. Her house had already been sold when Amanda moved in with Criss. All of the furniture had been shipped back to Denver too.
Amanda and Criss spent the last few days hanging out 24/7. The raided the malls and stores in Beverly Hills. It was the night before she was leaving LA to go back to Colorado. She sat at the table and began to write a note to Nick.
Nick,
Love always,
I'm sorry you have to find out this way. I never wanted to leave L.A. These past weeks have been absolutely horrible Nick. I couldn't stand to live next door to you so I moved in with Criss. My house had all these memories of you and me that I need to forget so I can move on. I'm moving back to Denver Nick. I miss my family and friends so much that I just can't deal anymore. You broke my heart and it'll never be repaired. I love you. I will always love you. Don't ever forget that. No matter what happens I could never stop. I just can't be with you. Criss has my number and my address if you want it. I hope your tour went well and I'm sorry I missed it. Next time you're in Denver give me a call. Maybe we can try this friends thing. I would like that. I'll miss you Nick.
Amanda
Amanda sealed the envelope and wrote Nick across it. She told Criss to give it to Nick when he came back to LA.
The next day....
Amanda grabbed her things and placed it in her car. She said bye to Criss earlier before she left for work. Amanda made sure she had everything. She took one last look at Criss's home and drove off. She went past her old house one time before leaving. Amanda stopped in front of Nick's house and shut off her car. She walked to his backyard and sat on his swing. She sat there for quite awhile crying her eyes out. She knew she would never be coming back to California and she knew she would never see Nick again.
She walked slowly back to her car and took off for Denver.
Nick returned back home a month later. Criss never told him that Amanda left. She still had the envelope that Amanda told her to give him. She gave it to him and watched him cry. He held it close to his heart before ripping in shreds and tossing it in the trash can.
