Chapter Twenty Seven

"I can't beleive Ike and Jaymi are finally getting married! It took him long enough to ask her!" Kayla said. She and Taylor were out furniture shopping. More like Taylor was following Kayla around while she did the shopping.

"Yeah... " Taylor said. He wasn't in the mood for Kayla's little hints. He was to young to get married and had told his girlfriend this many times. She just had selective hearing and chose not to respond when ever he made the remark. "I know what you're doing Kay and don't.. I've told you before.. I'm-"

"To young to get married... I know... "

"So you have been listening then?"

"Yes Taylor...I heard you the first 70 or so times you said it.. when it got past a hundred and fifty I stopped listening. Don't you love me?". Kayla knew he hated it when ever she asked him that. She knew he did in fact love her, and she knew what his reaction would be to the question. Thats why she had asked it.

"Kayla! Of course I love you! How many times do I have to say it? I love you I love you I love you! What do you want me to do, shout it from the rooftops of Tulsa?" Taylor asked, turning to face Kayla.

"Hey... thats an idea..". Taylor gave her a look that plainly told her, but in a nice way, to shut up.

"It's just we have our whole lives ahead of us! Why get married now when we can do it later? We're gonna be together for ever this time, so why rush into things?" He explained. This was the first time he had said this to Kayla. She smiled.

"So, you do want to marry me... just not yet?"

"Right... "

"Well.. good then." She said, leaning in to kiss him. "Oh, I forgot to tell you, Mom, Jaymi and I are going shopping tomorrow for my dress and Jaymi's. You and Ike are going to get your suits with Ben and Mackie and your Dad." Kayla told him. Taylor groaned. He hated getting dressed up.

"You mean, I can't wear jeans and a t-shirt to this thing?"

"Certainly not! Taylor, your brother is getting married to my twin sister... you are not, under any circumstances wearing jeans and a t-shirt!"

"Settle down hon.. I was kidding..." Taylor said, holding his hands up in defence. They passed a lounge setting and Kayla instantly fell in love with it. She didn't bother lookig at the price.

"Well... what about if your great aunt Holly sits next to my Uncle Jack?" Isaac suggested. Jaymi shook her head.

"Aunt Holly isn't good with meeting new people. Last year, when she met Doug's family, she had them all believing she was the original Wonder Woman... I swear... she's pretty crazy.. better seat her next to Mom or my Grandmother.." Jaymi explained. Isaac looked at her.

"Well... we have to have some sort of interaction between the two families! I mean geez!! whats wrong with your family? If it isn't Wonder Woman Holly it's you're cousin Andrew who tells anyone who will listen the life story of his pet snail..."

"Your family isn't much better! Wasn't it you in fact who told me about your Uncle Jack? The one who is a firm beleiver that all pizza delivery men are evil... that they are plotting to take over the world... or something like that... and what about you're Aunt Dotti? Wait... I'm not even going to go there..." . The two of them were in bed, it was 2pm and neither had anywhere they had to be, so had decided to do absolutly nothing. They were discussing the seating arrangements for the wedding. They were planning on having a small wedding, with family and close friends only. Jaymi winced when the baby started kicking. She reached over and took hold of Isaacs hand, placed it on her stomach and watched his face light up. "If this little one's a boy, he's gonna be a soccer player..." Jaymi smiled. Isaac nodded, but said nothing. He was fasinated by the fact there was a little person inside of the woman he loved most in the world. He had helped create this little mirricle and he loved knowing that.

"I can't wait to be married and be a family... you know that don't you?" He said, looking Jaymi in the eyes. She smiled again and lightly kissed him.

"I do so... and neither can I...". Jaymi was living with Isaac permanently. With the baby so close, Isaac wanted Jaymi to be with him as much as possible. Jaymi leaned back against the many pillows on the bed and snuggled into Isaac, who slid an arm around her. They continued to tease eachother about family memebers when the shrill ring of Isaac's phone filled the quiet house with annoying noise. Jaymi reached over and picked up the phone on the side table next to her side of the bed.

"Hello?"

"Hey Jaymi... how's my little sis doin huh? Don't I get a phone call every now and then?" Malcom's voice greeted her.

"Malcom!" Jaymi shrieked. "How did you know I was here?" She asked her older brother.

"Well, it said on the answering machine at home where to reach you, so I figured I'd give it a try"

"I'm glad you did! You got the invitation then?"

"Sure did.. Brooke and I will be there, along with Hayley."

"You will be? That's great! Oh I can't wait to see you Mal... Kayla and I have missed you so much since you moved away" Jaymi said.

"Yeah, have to admit... I have missed my little sisters to. Hey, is Kayla still with Taylor? Fill me in, let me know whats goin on there" Malcom said. Jaymi grinned at Isaac and he smiled back as he got out of the bed and walked out of the bedroom, leaving Jaymi and Malcom to talk.

"Yes, Kayla is still with Tay... they've finally got an appartment so they have moved out of the caravan... umm.. Mom and Doug are still happily married, Ben is getting a better attitude towards life. I've moved in with Ike now... Carly isn't thrilled about that but she's getting there, I mean, she does have C.J with her, but she said it's not the same without me or Kayla there. What else... oh yeah, my baby will be born by the time the wedding comes around, so you'll get to meet him.. or her... "

"Really? how many months are you now?"

"In my third trimester now... nearly eight months... you should see me, I'm like a beached whale now..." Jaymi said, laughing as she rubbed her huge stomach lightly. Malcom laughed to.

"I can only imagine... hey, you wanna say hi to Brooke? She just came home."

"Sure! Put her on" Jaymi said.

"Hey there stranger!" Brooke said happily.

"Hi Brooke! How are you?"

"I'm just fine... congratulations! On the wedding and the baby! I have a feeling that you will get married before Mal and I do... I think he just wants to stay engaged..." Brooke said jokingly.

"That's Mal for ya though.... but thankyou. Have you guy's set a wedding date yet?"

"Yeah... it's not for another two years, I wanna have a big wedding so we're saving up for it... and by then, Hayley will be old enough to be the flower girl."

"Good point. God, I hope I have enough time to lose the weight from my baby before my wedding.. otherwise I wont be able to fit into the dress I want!"

"Oh you've always been as skinny as a bean, you'll lose the weight easy" Brooke reasured Jaymi.

"Thankyou.... "

"No problem. Hey, I gotta run, but I'll talk to you soon ok? We really need to talk more! And you need to talk to your brother more to! I'm sure he misses you! He wont admit it, but I know he does." Brooke laughed.

"Yeah.... I miss him to. Has he talked to Kay lately?" Jaymi asked.

"I honestly couldn't tell you sweetheart... but I'll make sure he does if he hasn't. Ok?" Brooke assured her.

"Great, she'd love to hear from him.". The two of them said their goodbyes and Jaymi hung up the phone. She called out to Isaac to make her a cup of coffee, but by the time he returned to the bedroom, Jaymi was in a deep sleep.
