"Zac, I feel real bad about not getting you anything for your sixteenth!" C.J exclaimed. Zac shrugged.
"So? Look, we both agreed not to get anything for each other didn't we?". C.J nodded. "Well, there you go. I'm not getting you anything and you're not getting me anything... is that understood?" Zac asked. C.J smiled and nodded.
"Ok ok... hey, are you going to that party Tyson is having?"
"Not if you don't want me to"
"No, you can go... cause I'm going as well. Amy invited me... Amy was invited by Tyson"
"Oh really?... well, looks like we're going then. Are you gonna be drinking there?" Zac asked her.
"Well, who know's?... but let me tell you now... I'm not gonna get drunk and neither are you." C.J said seriously to him. Zac nodded.
"I wasn't planning to so don't worry" He said. C.J smiled.
"Good.... hey, do you know a guy called Adam?"
"Think so... isn't he Ben's friend?"
"Yeah"
"Yeah... I know him... why?"
"No reason" C.J said. She decided against telling him what Adam had tried a few day's ago. The two of them were sitting in Zac's room. The door was closed and only Jessica was home. And she had her friends, Carly and Coldan over. The three of them were mucking around in the livingroom. So Zac and C.J were alone. "I can't believe we're gonna be sixteen. I mean, I can still remember when we first met... the second time I mean. We were horrible to eachother"
"Yeah... you called me weak cause I didn't want to carry your case in... then you hit me god know's how many times... I can remember you forcing me to the ground!"
"Yeah well, you left me at the supermarket!... for an hour... and when I hit you, you had no problem hitting me back." C.J said.
"Do you remember the day we started becomming friends?" Zac asked her. She didn't have a chance to reply. "Your Mom sent us up to the corner to post a letter and you fell over... I laughed at you but then I realised that you had hurt yourself badly.."
"Yeah, I was crying my eyes out.. now that I look back at it.... it doesn't seem that bad.. I remember you were getting all panicky 'cause I couldn't get up... then you took off down the street and I had no idea on what you were doing.." C.J started. "You came back with Ike, Tay and Malcom.. you had gone to your house insted of mine.. which was closer!" The two of them lauged. C.J leant in closer to her boyfriend. "I'm just glad we stayed friends... " She whispered as her lips met his.
Isaac opened his front door. "Hang on.." He mummbled to himself.. "That should be locked!". He could then hear noises coming from the kitchen. He set down his briefcase and picked up a baseball bat that he kept near the front door for situations just like this. He quietly crept forward, towards the swinging kitchen door. A crash came and then a loud cry of surprise as Isaac lept through the door yelling at the top of his lungs, swining the bat around in cricles high above his head. When he saw who it was, it stopped him in his tracks, the bat frozen in mid air.
"Clarke Isaac Hanson! What on earth are you trying to do? Give your mother a heart attack?" Mrs Hanson cried. Isaac dropped the bat and stood in shock for a few moments.
"Mom? what are you doing here? How did you get in?" He asked her, a confused look came across his face.
"I'm retriving the baking tray you borrowed from me some time ago... I need it.. and what do you mean how did I get in? You gave me a key remember, dear son of mine.." Mrs Hanson said as she took the tray out of a cupboard, and placed it on the counter. Isaac smiled sheepesly as he remembered.
"Oh, uhh... yeah.. I thought I gave that back?... "
"Well, you didn't. Is this how you greet all your guests?" His mother asked. Isaac looked down at the bat and shook his head.
"I thought you were someone trying to break in"
"Well, maybe you should yell out and not come charging into a room swinging a baseball bat around your head, yelling like a cave man".
"Yeah... I'll do that next time. Sorry about the bat" Isaac apologised. Mrs. Hanson shook her head.
"Don't worry about it." She said. She picked up the baking tray and headed for the door. "Will we be seeing you and Jaymi at dinner tomorrow night?" She asked, refering to Zac's birthday dinner. Isaac nodded.
"Of course. See you later Mom" He said as he gave her a kiss on her forehead and then closed the front door behind her.
Thank God that's over!" Zac exclaimed as he flopped down onto the couch. The last of the dinner guests had just left and Zac was ready to relax. It was only 2 more day's to Tyson's party and he couldn't wait. It was C.J's birthday tomorrow and then they would both be sixteen. Zac knew he wanted to sleep with C.J. He just didn't know how to bring up that subject with C.J. He figured she would probably want to wait or something like that. But Zac felt that he had waited long enough. He knew that C.J wasn't a virgin, so that made things easier. He also knew that she had lost her virginity due to her brother rapping her when she was 10. "I'm sixteen" He murmered to himself. He was the last of his friends to turn sixteen so that made him the baby of the group.
"Yep, you're now officially three years older than me again" Jessica anounced, walking into the den. She had overheard Zac talking to himself.
"That's a good thing" Zac said. Jessica shrugged.
"At least I'm older than Avery... and Avery's older than Mackenzie and Mackenzie is older than Zoe... thank god Mom stopped at Zoe..". Zac just nodded. He wasn't in the mood for small talk with his little sister. He sighed. All he could think about was C.J. He still found it hard to believe that she was back. After so long of living without her... he had stuffed up his life because he had missed her so much. He wasn't blaming C.J at all... everything he had done, he had done by himself.
"I can't beleive you done that!" Jaymi cried, tears streaming down her face from laughter. She could bearly stand up. Isaac had just told her about the afternoons events at his house. She had come over for a visit. Isaac rolled his eyes. He knew he shouldn't have told her.. but if he didn't, his Mom would. Jaymi calmed down and poured herself a glass of low fat milk. She drank it in three gulps and then poured another glass.
"Thirsty?" Isaac asked, as he watched her drown a third glass. She nodded.
"I've been dying for milk for ages... but all we had at home was full cream.. and I don't like that.." She said, pulling a face to show her dislike. She was nearly three months into the pregnancy and was starting to show a fair bit. Jaymi drank another glass of milk and then sat down at the table. "You sure you can't come to my ultra sound?" She asked. Isaac shook his head.
"I'm really sorry hon... I tried to get out of work but I can't" He said apologetically. Jaymi looked down at the table and then nodded.
"I know... Kayla's coming with me... listen, do you want to know the sex of the baby?"
"I don't know... I wouldn't mind knowing"
"I wouldn't either... then we could get the baby's room ready and pick out name's and stuff" Jaymi said.
"I thought we had name's" Isaac said. Jaymi nodded.
"Yeah, a girls name... we don't have a boy's name though"
"Oh, well any suggestions?"
"I was thinking about Liam" Jaymi said, hoping Isaac would like the name. To her pleasure, he nodded.
"Yeah... Casey or Liam... so are we going to find out the sex of the baby?" Isaac asked. Jaymi thought about it and then shook her head.
"Nah, I'd like to wait.... my Mom alway's waited for a surprise to see what she had."
"Yeah... same with Mom. Ok, we'll wait" Isaac said.
