I had been living at 5 kym street, Pt Noarlunga (SA, Australia) for about a month before Jess and I met. Of course, we had seen each other in our front yards, but had never had the courage to talk to each other. I was 11 and Jess was 8.
The day we actually met, was a Saturday. It was late afternoon and Candice and I were mucking about in our front yard. Jess came outside and started "showing off" as I call it, by doing handstands in her front yard. The front fence between our houses was very low, the top of it reached up to my waist. Jess had her cat (Loopy) with her, so Candice went and got our small dog (Miffy). I took Miffy in my arms and walked over to the fence, there I smiled at Jess and said "Don't worry! He's afraid of cats!" That cracked Jess up and broke the ice between us.
Over time, I have learnt that Jess loves to laugh, she is constantly on the lookout for things that will make her, and other people laugh. Shes a loyal friend and caring, but she likes to get her own way, and she can be very stubbourn. Jess claims to have mood swings sometimes, but I've never seen them. The only times I have seen Jess upset or crying was when her pet rat died and then a few months later, her dog died.
Jess love to joke around, but can be serious and supportive when you need her to be. She's a good listener but doesnt always give the most sensible advice. :o)
A funny thing about Jess is, she walks and talks in her sleep. Her parents thought she would grow out of it, but she hasn't yet. Jess is very mature for her age, and when we are out together, I often forget the age difference between us. She is mad about horses. She loves them, shes been riding for about 3 years now and is slowly saving up for her own horse.
Jess is rarely quiet and shes always got something to say, regardless of whether you like it or not. She doesn't like making people angry with her, but she holds grudges. If you emotionally, or physically hurt one of her friends, look out. Do the same to one of her best friends, and you'll reep the consequences. She is very protective over people close to her.
Jess likes to meet new people, but is shy at first. If the person is friendly and talks to her, then Jess will open right up, but if the person is friendly and doesn't talk to her, then she'll stick with her friends.
Jess doesn't drink, smoke or do drugs and is strongly against all three things. She is currently trying to stop her dad from smoking, by taking them away from him and either hidding them, or dousing them with water.
She loves to read and write and has a large collection of books and also has a large collection of poems and stories, written by friends in her room. She loves pop/rock music, her fave bands being Hanson, 5ive, N'sync, Human Nature and more.
Jess is a gorgeous girl, inside and out and not many people can find something negative to say about her. She's a pretty positive person and cheers you up when you're feeling pretty down. Jess is someone you always want to be around and that's why she's one of my best friends.
