"How's things with Justin?" Zac asked me a few day's after the night at my house. I nodded and grinned.
"Great... why?"
"No reason.. just wondering"
"Oh.. well.. how's things with Grace?" I asked, grinning. Zac smiled.
"Good as ever" He replied. The two of us were walking around the mall, looking for Taylor and Angeline as we were going to meet them and go to lunch together.
"Thats great"
"Sure is... see them anywhere yet?"
"Nuh-uh.. maybe we should just go have lunch and forget about Tay and Angeline.. maybe they don't wanna be found... if you get my point" I said. Zac thought for a moment and then pulled a disgusted face.
"Now there's something I don't wanna think about. You're gross Jesi"
"Hey! I'm just saying that they might have wanted to be alone for a few hours.. I mean, whenever Angeline is over at your house, they have everyone bugging them, even you Zac... and well, they can't go to Angelines house because of her father." I told him. Angelines father was an alcoholic who was drunk all the time and did not like Taylor at all. He abused Taylor verbally whenever he saw him. Zac shrugged his shoulders.
"I guess... still, they could have just told us that they wanted some time alone and not just ditch us like this." He grumbled. I laughed. "I wasn't trying to be funny" Zac said.
"Hey, lighten up will you? So your brother and his girlfriend went off without informing you... who cares! It's not like they left you with no company at all..." I told him. Zac sighed and looked down at me. Finally, he smiled.
"Yeah... sorry... I'm just getting worried about Grace..."
"What do you mean?" I asked as I spotted some of Justin's friends. I gave them a wave but they only smiled back. I then saw that they were looking at Zac's arm drapped across my shoulders.
"Well, she's been acting weird lately.."
"But you just said things were going great between you" I said. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Justin's friends get up and start to follow Zac and I at a slow pace. I also noticed that Justin wasn't with them.
"I lied... she hasn't wanted to see me ever since that night at your house. Has she said anything to you?" Zac asked, sounding worried. My heart broke to see him this way. Grace had said something to me. She was going to break up with him. But I couldn't tell Zac that!. I took my time answering him.
"Well... depends... I don't know Zac, ask her yourself what's going on" I said. I didn't want to be dragged into the middle of this. Zac was chewing on his bottom lip, something he did whenever he was upset.
"Jesi, if she's said anything to you, you'd tell me wouldn't you? I mean, I'm your best friend" He said.
"And so is Grace."
"You two alway's do this to me. You talk to each other and then when I ask what's going on, neither of you tell me" Zac complained.
"When has Grace kept something from you that I've said?" I asked.
"Well about Just-" Zac stopped himself.
"About what?" I asked.
"...Nothing"
"Zac"
"What?" Zac acted like he hadn't said anything. I stared at him for a few seconds and then sighed.
"Nothing... let's just drop this. I'm starved."
"Me to... what do you want for lunch?"
"I don't know.... I hope you know I don't have any money."
"Ohh ok then... well, you'll just have to go hungry wont you?"
"Zac! You wouldn't!" I said, pretending to be hurt.
"You're right... how much?"
"As much as you wanna give me" I said, grinning.
"Well, that depends on what you want for lunch." Zac said.
"Well, I don't know what I want" I said.
"Geez, you know, you should be my girlfriend instead of Grace, I pay for more lunches and dinners and movie tickets for you than what I do for her" Zac pointed out.
"Well, that's cause Grace is the independant type... me... I'm the old fashioned type.. let the guy pay whenever possible."
"That sounds just like you to. What about rides home?"
"Hey, I'll get them whenever possible to"
"Well, plant one here and I just might consider giving you a ride home" Zac said, a playful grin on his face as he pointed to his cheek. I laughed and gave him the kiss he was looking for.
"There... now do I get my ride?"
"Let me think on it for a while and I'll let you know what I decide" He replied. He then asked me what I wanted to eat. I told him to surprise me. He nodded and wondered off while I went in search of a table. I soon found one and started to make my way over to it when a body appeared infront of me. I looked up at the face and inwardly groaned. It was Justins best friend, also one of the sleaziest guys I knew.
"Jesika... fancy seeing you here." He said, grinning down at me. I rolled my eyes.
"Yeah, real surprise." I mumbled. Anthony took hold of my shoulders. "Hey... let me go" I snapped. He lauged.
"No, not just yet. You see Jesika.. I've had my eye on you for quite a while now.. only you've been with Justin. Now, why would you want to be with that dickhead when you could have me?" He asked. I let out a short laugh and looked him up and down.
"Yeah, sure Anthony... just tell me when and where baby." I said sarcastically. He smiled.
"Troy's party, next Saturday." He told me. I looked at him, disbelief plastered over my face.
"You actually thought I was serious? Please... as if I would want you!" I said, trying to free myself from his grip but his hands grew tighter on my shoulders.
"See, thats where you're wrong Jesika. You will do what I say.... or I'll tell Justin what I've seen here today and how I've seen it. Seems you and your friend were getting pretty close. Oh and that kiss on the cheek... that was actually a full on kiss. He had his hands all over you and you did nothing to stop it. Jess, you were a real little slut with him. Now, you know what Justin is like about these things. He'll go apeshit and you know who he'll believe don't you. Me." He hissed. I looked around for Zac but he was no where in sight. I gave Anthony a look that could kill.
"There is no way in hell I would ever sleep with a loser like yourself. Justin wouldn't believe you. He loves me and he knows there is nothing going on between Zac and me. Don't you dare think you could threaten to tell him some bullshit story to get me to bed with you because it wont work!" I exclaimed and pulled myself free from his vice like grip.
"Oh, yes it will Jesika. Yes it will. I'll give you until the party to rethink things. You dont put out, I'll run along and tell your precious Justin everything."
"But theres nothing to tell! Zac and I are just friends!"
"Maybe so.. but I don't know that do I? What I saw is what I saw." He said. I pushed him out of my way and went in search of Zac, but I had no intentions on telling him what had just taken place. I heard Anthony's laughter behind me and tried with every fiber in me to block it out.
