Chapter One- Jesika

"Zac!" I squealed as I ran down the hallway of my house. Zac stood in the lounge room, facing the fire place. At the sound of his name he turned around and his face lit up in a smile. He held out his arms and I flew into them.

"Hey Jesi!" He said, using his pet name for me, hugging me thightly. Zac was the only person in the world who could get away with calling me Jesi. I hugged him back. I had my Zac home.

"I missed you! I can't believe you're really home!" I cired. Zac laughed.

"Well I'm here for the next three weeks, so that'll be plenty of time for you to de-miss me" He said. I shook my head.

"I'm always going to miss you cause you're alway's away" I told him. Zac gave me the look he always did when I said something like that.

"Jesi, do you really have to?" He asked me. I looked up at him (he was a head taller than me) and grinned.

"Yep.... how's everyone?" I asked, changing the subject. Zac shrugged.

"Good, but they're all tired. When I left, Tay and Ike were still sleeping... hey, what happened to your face?" He asked. My hand flew upto the bruise that was on my right cheek bone as I wracked my brain for something to tell him.

"My face?... oh right... this... well, I guess I should tell you the truth huh?" I asked.

"It would be a good idea, considering I'll just find out anyway.... if you don't tell me then Grace will" Zac said. Grace was Zac's girlfriend, and my cousin.

"Ok then. I walked into a door knob.... there... happy now?" I asked as Zac began to laugh.

"How did you manage that?" He asked.

"I don't know. But it happened" I said. Zac stopped laughing and peered at my bruise.

"Must've been a pretty high door knob" He said quietly. His comment startled me.

"What do you mean?" I asked sharply. He raised his hands in defence.

"Hey, I was joking Jesi! geez..." Zac cried. I relaxed.

"I'm sorry.. I just tho-" I was cut off by the shrill ring of the phone. I gave Zac an apologetic smile and went to answer it. I picked it up on the fifth ring. "Hello?"

"Where were you? What took so long to answer the phone?" A male voice snapped. I sighed.

"Well, hello to you to Justin, and I told you yesterday, Zac is home and he's here now." I told my boyfriend.

"Well, tell him to leave, you're coming out with me." He said.

"Am I now?.. No Justin, I told you yesterday I couldn't do anything tonight."

"Who the hell is Zac anyway." He asked me.

"One of my best friends who I haven't seen for 5 months. He's been on tour." I said with annoyance rising in my voice.

"Oh that's right... he's that Zac Hanson"

"What is that supposed to mean?" I snapped.

"Nothing, I'll pick you up at eight. Be ready." Justin said before hanging up his end of the phone. I took a deep breath to try and contain my anger before returning to Zac.

"Well, it looks as though you'll get to meet Justin. He'll be here in half an hour." I said. I had no intentions of asking Zac to leave. Zac grinned.

"Great, now I'll know what you've been up to while I've been away!"

"Don't be so sure of that.. Zac, I have to be honest with you. He wanted me to ask you to leave so I could go out with him. He's going to expect me to be ready when he gets here and when he sees that I haven't made a move because you're here, he isn't going to be happy." I blurted out. I had no idea where it came from. Zac's face darkened.

"What do you mean. 'he isn't going to be happy' he doesn't -"

"NO! I uh mean, no, Zac.. he would never do that." I said quickly. Maybe a little too quickly because Zac gave me a weird look.

"Yeah, well" was all he said. I shrugged and the moment passed.

"Have you eaten yet?" I asked Zac. He shook his head.

"Nope, unless you count airoplane food... but I don't... what do you have?"

"Go look" I told him. Zac gave me a silly grin and headed for the kitchen. I laughed and followed him. By the time I reached the kitchen, Zac already had his head stuck in the fridge, a bowl of salad under one arm and a jar of mayonnaise in his hand. He placed the items on the bench after he had kicked the fridge door shut and went in search of bread. "Mom baked some bread yesterday, it's in the bread bin." I told him.

"MMmm.. " Zac said as he took three slices from the bread bin. He then proceeded to make himself a salad sandwich. I laughed as he attempted to take a large bite.

"Why don't you cut it in half?" I suggested. Zac shook his head.

"Now why would I want to go and do something silly like that? Jesi, if I cut it in half I'll take all the fun away in eating it!" He excalimed.

"Ok, well... at least get a plate! you're getting tomato everywhere!" I said, handing him a plate. Zac picked up a slice of tomato and threw it at me. I grabbed a handful of lettuce and was about to throw it at Zac when the doorbell rang. My hand froze in mid air. My face must have gone white. I know it did. "He's here." I told Zac.
