In Carthage, New York on January 16, 1948 John Carpenter was born. He spent many of his years living in Bowling Green, Kentucky however, which he consideres his home town. John Carpenter got his start in the movie business when he was a student at the University of Southern California. During his years there he studied film where he and along with his fellow classmate, Dan O'Bannon started a low budget film titled Dark Star. In the following years Carpenter made a series of short films, one of which won him an Oscar in 1970 for the film The Resurrection Of Bronco Billy.
Earlier in his career he wrote the screenplay for films such as Zuma Beach and The Eyes of Laura Mars, both made in 1978. Of course the major Carpenter film of that year was Halloween which this portion of my wonderful (lol) site is dedicated too. Anyhoo, Carpenter also did a made for TV movie called Someone's Watching Me. That really doesn't matter that much to me cause I didn't make this portion of my website dedicated to "Someone's Watching Me." Well I heard that Someone's Watching Me is kinda scary but it's nothing compared to Halloween in my opinion if your interested in it, go check it out but don't critisize me for insulting Someone's Watching Me, k!
Carpenter's next horror movie was The Fog in 1980. I haven't seen it, but that doesn't mean it's not bad hehehehe. Well Carpenter next movie that I actually saw was Christine made in 1983. It's not that scary but it's different (I know I know, you're probably thinking that I say every movie is different but this one really it!)It's about this car yada yada yada...go check out my Christine section.
Well after that he did some sci-fiction movies such as Starman and Big Trouble in Little China cause he screwed up on this one horror movie The Thing. Well he did a lot of other movies such as Vampires in '98 and some other stuff before that. If you actually care, go read up on it cause I don't. I am only doing this mini biography since I gots nothin better to do and to nurture my mind (yeah right) Well you have to admit that it is good reference and heck, I might need to do a project at school on John Carpenter.
Oh yeah, please don't hate me for not putting in 100% effort on this biography. It was just some inspiration after I was visited by 3 ghosts last night and they said some of you people out there might actually care about John Carpenter. If John Carpenter is reading this (not likely) don't hate me, I did take time out of my busy life to do a biography on you even though it's not so good and I did kinda make fun of your Someone's Watching Me movie. If you want to complain to me about this bad biography, please be my guest. I imagine that you know what my e-mail address is by now.
