"So, what do you want to do today Nick?" Amanda said while popping a handful of skittles in her mouth.
"What's there to do here?"
"Well, not much, " she laughed.
"That narrows it down Mandy."
"There's an amusement park about 5 miles from here, we can go there."
"Sounds good to me sweetie."
"You rhymed, goofball."
Nick gave her a warm smile that made her stomach do flip flops. The way her looked at her made her feel warm inside and sent chills down her back.
"When do you want to go, it's already 11."
"How about now? We could leave a note saying we went out."
"Sure, let me just freshen up."
"Amanda, you look gorgeous, let's go."
"Fine, only cuz you say so."
She let out a small giggle. Nick grabbed her hand and pulled her to the car. It was her parents car, since hers was in California. Amanda got in the driver's seat while Nick got settled in the passenger seat. They buckled up and drove the 5 miles to the park. It wasn't that crowded because of the cold weather which made it better.
Amanda shivered at the cool breeze that swept across her. Nick noticed her movement and pulled her close to him as they walked inside.
"What do you want to go on first Amanda?"
"Anything, as long as I'm close to you."
"Aw, let's go on the ferris wheel, that way we'll be close."
"No way, I hate ferris wheels."
"What!? Oh come on, I'll keep you safe." he grinned.
"Well, in that case, let's go."
Amanda took off towards the ride with Nick right behind her. He got in first taking Amanda's hand and pulling her in beside him. She snuggled up close for comfort and safety. She fastened her nervous, cold hands to the bar that lay in front of her. Nick grabbed her hand and intertwined their fingers.
"Nick...I'm scared. I hate heights."
"Don't worry. I'm here. I promised I'd keep you safe."
"You better, or I'll have to hurt you."
"If you hurt me, how am I going to do this?" he asked her as he lighty placed his lips on hers.
"Good point."
"That's what I thought."
The ride started up as soon as the rest of the line got on. Amanda squeezed Nick's hand tightly as they neared the top.
"Mandy, any harder and you're going to squeeze my hand right off my arm." Nick said jokingly.
"Sorry Nick, but I already told you I hate heights and we are pretty far up."
"It's going to take us back down in a minute so don't worry."
"Easy for you to say."
"Well, you don't hate plane rides like I do, so next time were on a plane I'll get all scared and you can tell me not to worry that way I can say, "easy for you to say."
"Nick, shut up."
"Girls."
"What about girls?"
"I love them."
"You better not!! Just me!!"
"Yup, just you."
"Good."
The ride started back up again nearing towards ground. Amanda was relieved when they finally got off and looked for a ride more of which stayed on the ground.
"You're no fun. You don't like anything here."
"No, just the ferris wheel and the roller coasters. And you can't complain because you don't like the roller coasters either."
"Fine. Let's go on that," he said pointing to the Merry-Go-Round.
"You've got to be kidding me."
"Nope, let's go."
"Aren't we a wee bit old to be going on that?"
"Nu uh. C'mon. "
Nick grabbed her hand and dragged to to the Merry-Go-Round. When it was done from the last turn, they hopped on two of the horses that were close together. After everyone got on, it spun around, going faster everytime, but not too fast.
"Nick, that was, uh, fun. Let's go get something to drink. I'm thirsty," Amanda told him after getting off the ride.
"Ok."
Nick and Amanda walked over to the concession stand and got 2 medium Mountain Dews. They walked around the park and after finishing their pops they entered a haunted house.
Nick led the way as Amanda trailed behind just a tad. He entered the room of mirrors. He stood in front of everyone of them, his form different everytime. He giggled at the sight of some of them. Amanda stood in front of one of them and noticed she wasn't the only one looking into that mirror. She turned around quickly but seen she was the only one in the room. Nick was no where in sight and she was beginning to freak.
"Nick?" she asked quietly.
"Nick, where are you?"
She turned in circles as she spoke making sure no one was in there. Looking for an exit from the room of mirrors, she found nothing.
"Nick, where did you go? This isn't funny anymore."
She turned back to where she came in but only to become face to face with another mirror.
Where is the exit?"she thought.
Someone tapped her on her shoulder.
"AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she yelled jumping out of her skin.
Amanda turned around to see Nick laughing his head off.
"Gosh, I didn't know you got scared so easily." Nick told her.
"I'm going to hurt you Nick!! That was not funny."
"I thought it was. I was hiding behing that mirror this whole time."
"So you were the one standing behind me in that mirror."
"Huh?"
"What do you mean, huh?"
"I wasn't standing behind you. I was hiding the whole time."
"Then who was?" she asked him sarcastically.
"I was," said some man who suddenly appeared from behind some mirror.
Nick and Amanda exchanged glances and screamed.
"HA HA" the man said in an evil laugh.
Nick and Amanda tried to find the exit while the man stood there and chuckled wickedly.
Nick found a a door and him and Amanda quickly got out. They had to go through the rest of the haunted house before finally getting out.
"Ok, Nick. No more haunted houses for me."
"You're such a baby."
"Me!? You got scared too!!"
"Did not!"
"Whatever Nick. All I know is that house made me hungry. Let's go eat."
"All right."
Amanda and Nick searched for some stand with decent food beside something with hot dogs. After about 10 minutes Amanda ended up eating a cheeseburger with cheese fries and Nick had a regular burger with fries.
They spent the rest of the day at the park, making sure they didn't enter any haunted houses or anything that went up more than 15ft.
Amanda and Nick left around 6 o' clock and arrived home sometime before 7. They shared their day with Amanda's parents and had some dinner with the family. Amanda and Nick spent most of the night in her room watching movies and some television. It was Nick's second day with Amanda and she didn't want the week to end.
