Amanda was released from the hospital in the late afternoon on Friday. Her parents agreed to stay one more day so Amanda could spend the day with Nick and Criss. Since Criss knew Amanda and Nick would want to spend the day together, she invited Chris to hang out with her so he wouldn't be stuck in a hotel room with nothing to do.
"Nick, you don't know how good it feels to be back here." Amanda said as she sat on his red love seat.
"It feels good to have you back here." Nick responded as he sat down next to her.
"Can I spend the whole day in your arms?" she asked with an innocent face.
"Why would you want to do that?" he said jokingly.
"Because I want to, do you have a problem with that?"
"Nope, no problem here."
Amanda lied down on Nick's lap as he played with her hair. She shut her eyes and cuddled up to him.
"You make a nice pillow Nick."
"I'm glad to hear that." he said with a smile.
"I miss this."
"Well, you don't have to miss it anymore cuz we are going to be together for a very very long time."
"I love you."
"I love you too."
Amanda sat up and placed her head down on Nick's shoulder and he wrapped his arms around her nice and tight. They stayed like that for what seemed like forever before both of them fell asleep.
"So, how do you like California?" Criss asked Chris.
"From what I seen of it, the airport, hotel, and hospital, it's ok."
"Well, you'll have to come back here and see the night life, it's awesome."
"Maybe I'll take you up on that offer sometime considering Amanda will be back here. Maybe I can convince her into taking me with her."
"Yeah, she'll probably want to see Nick so I have a feeling she'll be here alot."
"Yeah, he seems like an OK guy."
"He is once you get to know him, he can be really sweet." Criss said with a little bit of sadness in her voice.
"You like him a lot don't you? I can tell by your voice."
"Yeah, maybe. We dated for about a month a little while after Amanda left but he was so in love with her we broke it off."
"I'm sorry."
"It wasn't meant to be. Amanda and him are. He's my best friend, I don't want to end up like a Dawson-Joey type thing."
Chris giggled.
"So, how about we do something instead of sitting around my house?"
"Sure, what's there to do out here?"
"Well, we can go swimming, miniature golfing, anything to do with water, there's an arcade not to far from here."
"Well, I'd say go swimming but I don't have anything to go swimming in so how about some golfing?"
"Alrighty then. Putt-Putt it is!"
Back at Nick's house...
"...When I wake up to, the touch of your head on my shoulder..."Nick sang softly.
He had woken up after falling asleep with Amanda laying on him. She looked so beautiful. A strand of hair lay in her eyes so he took his finger and slowly brushed it aside. He continued on singing.
"Hey, you're supposed to sing to me when I'm awake. That way I can hear you."
"I sorry. You just looked so peaceful I didn't want to wake you. But I'm glad you're up, that way you can hear me sing to you."
Amanda smiled letting Nick continue on.
Nick looked at the clock to see it said 3:47. They had slept for over an hour.
"I have an idea, wanna play a game?" Nick asked.
"Depends what it is."
"Ok, think of 5 questions, write them down, and put them in my hat. I'll do the same, and we'll put out a question and both of us has to answer."
"Ok, sounds cool."
Nick got up grabbing some paper and 2 pens. He thought up some good questions, folding them, and placing them in his hat. Amanda finished up and threw them in with Nick's. He shook the hat up and held it out in front of Amanda. She picked one up and read it aloud.
"Oh, one of mine. Ok, over the past year, what was the craziest thing you've done? I guess I have to answer that one."
"Um...let's see. Craziest thing I've done. I....I went skinning dipping in my pool, but no one was home and we have a privacy fence so no one seen me."
"Wish I was there." Nick said with a grin.
She threw a pillow at Nick. "Ok, you answer."
Nick started, "I guess that would've been when me and Brian went to the mall, wearing no hats or sunglasses. That was insane."
"Those girls could've killed you!"
"One of them almost did!" Nick laughed.
Nick stuck his hand in pulling out another question.
"All right, if you change one thing about your significant other what would it be and why?"
"Hmm, what would I change about you...I'd change the fact that you're so beautiful because that way I wouldn't be drooling all over you and making a fool out of myself."
"Aw, you're so sweet. " She reached over and gave him a nice kiss.
"Well, I'd change the fact that you're a good kisser so that way I wouldn't be so tempted to kiss you every 5 minutes."
"What's wrong with that? I don't mind."
Amanda smiled and leaned over to kiss him nice and slow on the lips. They continued kissing until Nick broke away from her.
"Shouldn't we finish the game?"
"Forget the game." Amanda answered and went back to kissing him.
Meanwhile Criss and Chris were getting along just fine at the Putt Putt. She was enjoying herself with him a lot.
"Oh, hole in one for me." Criss squeaked.
"You think you're cool now huh?"
"Yeah, I feel totally cool."
"Well, not as cool as me of course."
"Whatever Chris."
"Whatever Chris," he mimicked.
"Your turn."
He placed his ball on the ground and carefully hit it right into the hole on the first shot.
"Oh, hole in one for me." Chris rubbed in.
"Oh, so now you think you are still cooler than me? Don't think so!"
"Yes I do."
"No you don't."
"Whatever Criss."
"Whatever Criss." she mimicked back at him.
"You're such a dork."
"You're such a dork," she repeated.
"You're going to get it now!"
"You're going to get it now!"
"That's it," he said and took off after her.
They were running in between groups of people. Chris trapped her at the end where a mini waterfall was. The water was very shallow so in order to get away from Chris, Criss stepped in and walked away.
"What are you doing!!" he yelled.
"Getting away from you. It's nice in here, you should join me."
"Not a chance."
"Your loss."
"I'm getting out of here before I get kicked out."
"Fine, wait for me."
Criss walked back on dry land and followed Chris out of the park. She got weird stares at her as she left but it made her laugh and for Chris to get embarrassed.
They got in the car with Criss behind the wheel.
"You know you look like a dork." Chris stated.
"Thanks, I feel loved now."
"You should! It was nice of me to give you such a wonderful compliment."
"Ok."
Criss pulled out of the parking lot and drove back to her house to get a change of clothes. She picked up a pair of black track shorts and her neon green halter bikini top to wear since it was really hot outside.
She walked back out there and seen Chris watching some TV. He turned around and his eyes popped out of his head. She looked great.
"Gosh Chris, don't get too excited. It's not like you never seen a girl before."
"I wasn't." he said trying to cover up what he really thought.
"Sure."
Criss plopped down on the couch next to him. He smiled to himself and faced her.
"I wonder what Amanda and Nick are up to."
"Probably just hanging out. "
"Yeah."
"I've got a question to ask you little fella."
"Shoot."
"Do you have any sort of feelings for Amanda?"
"I love her. Like a sister. She's my best friend but it upsets me to see her with Nick. I don't want him to break her heart again. She used to cry on my shoulder everyday for months. It hurt me to see her like that."
"I bet. But they're back together now. She'll be happy again. You might just have to hear her whine saying she misses Nick but, at least it's not a bad pain."
"Yeah, I guess so. I just want to see her happy. But if he breaks her heart again I will personally pound him into the ground."
"I can see the headline now," Criss said holding her hands out in the air, "Best friend of Nick Carter's ex, pounds him into ground."
"Funny. I'd probably have a million girls at my house wanting to pound me!"
"I'd be the first one, I don't want to see my best friend in the ground."
"I'll remember that."
At Nick's him and Amanda were watching some Tv after their little kissing moment that lasted about 10 minutes. TRL was and they were at the #3 video, Christina Aguilera's What A Girl Wants.
"I like this song." Amanda responded to the video.
"Oh me too."
"Better not be for some certain reasons."
"No, that's what you're for." he grinned.
"Dork!"
"You know you love me."
"I know I do. Always and forever."
"Good."
"What about you?"
"What about me?"
"Do you love me always and forever?"
"I love you more than that."
"Good. I love when I hear you say that."
"I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you," he repeated.
"Goofball, I love you too."
