They landed in Orlando about 10 o' clock at night. The 4 hour plane ride tired them out so as soon as they got to their hotel room and unpacked they went straight to bed. Amanda woke up around 4 in the morning and decided to take a shower since she couldn't fall back asleep. She was still in yesterday's clothes so she threw on a pair of tweety bird shorts and a matching tank top. She combed her hair and put it in a scrunchie. There was only coffee in the room and since she wasn't a coffee person she went out in the hall to the pop machines. After getting a mountain dew she journeyed back to the room. As she went to open it she realized it was locked and her key was inside the room.
Amanda banged hard on the door hoping Nick would hear her. Finally after 5 minutes of knocking Nick opened the door.
"What are you doing out there?" he asked her as she entered back in the room.
"I went out to get pop and I forgot my key card to let myself back in."
"What are you even doing up?"
"Couldn't sleep. So I took a shower too."
"I'm going back to bed. I'm too exhausted."
"You don't want to stay up with me and watch the sun rise?"
"Maybe later. Night Amanda."
"We can't do it later, the sun rises once a day."
"We can watch it set, more romantic."
"You're such a party pooper."
"If you say so," Nick spoke as he laid back under the covers.
Amanda didn't want Nick to go back to bed since she was wide awake so she dove straight onto the bed they were sharing. It shook making Nick appear from under the sheets.
"Amanda!! I'm trying to get some sleep. I have a busy day today."
"Sorry," Amanda told him, slightly hurt.
"Mandy, I'm sorry. Come here." Nick patted the spot next to him for her to lay down.
Amanda shook her head.
"Pweese?"
She repeated her actions.
"Fine, I'll just have to make you come here myself."
With that said, Nick got off the bed and walked over to Amanda, picking her up. She struggled to get free but had no luck. Nick slowly and gently lied her down and got under the blanket right next to her. He pulled her close and wrapped his arm around showing he didn't want her to leave.
He kissed her forehead, saying, "I love you."
Amanda grinned and quietly said, "I love you too Nick."
They stayed like that till the sun came pouring through the thin shades that hung from the window. Nick woke up first seeing that the clock said 11:13. He had a meeting at noon with the guys and their managers. He jumped out of the bed and went around to the other side and shook Amanda. She opened her eyes slowly but shutting them again.
"Amanda, it's 11:15. I have a meeting at noon. Are you going to stay here or come with me and meet LeighAnne?"
"I'll come."
"Ok, I'm going to take a shower. I'll be back."
Nick grabbed some clothes out of his suitcase and proceeded into the bathroom. About 15 minutes later he appeared in the room wearing a pair of black slacks with a wife beater on. Over that was a dark green shirt that was opened. Obviously he didn't fix his hair yet since it was all messy and wet. It was a little past 11:30 and he had to hurry up. Amanda was dressed in a pair of dark flared pants with her Union Bay pastel blue shirt, with the sleeves only three quarters down. Nick eyed her and smiles slightly.
"You about ready to go Mandy?"
"Yeah, I'm set. Aren't you going to do your hair?"
"Yeah, but I want to make sure you're all set."
"I am. Go do your hair so we can leave."
"I'm moving!"
5 or 10 minutes later Nick came out of the bathroom with his hair dry and slicked back, but not wet looking. He looked sophisticated.
"Let's go."
"Ok, " Amanda said as she grabbed her purse and followed Nick to the car. It was a 98 green Jeep Wrangler that they had rented for the week. He didn't want to get a fancy car so he wouldn't attract that much attention while he was here. Anyway, he was with his girlfriend and that was another reason why he didn't want attention. No one knew about her and he didn't want her to start getting threats or anything. He was proud that he had her but he knew she didn't want to be in the public eye, well, not yet anyway.
Nick pulled into the parking lot to the recording studio where the meeting was being held. He parked the car close to the doors and walked inside with Amanda at his hand. She follwoed Nick down the hall, up the stairs and to a room about 4 from the staircase. He walked in and seen Brian, Kevin, A.J., Howie, and a few others in the room which included this managers, producers, girlfriends, etc.
Nick and Amanda went to say Hi everyone before Nick sat down with the rest of the guys and Amanda went off with LeighAnne. It would be a super long meeting and both of them didn't want to sit through it so they took off in LeighAnne's car and went to the mall. On the way there they talked about Amanda and Nick mostly.
"So how long have you two been together?" she asked Amanda casually.
"Well, about a couple months right now. We were together before but we split for a year."
"Sorry to hear that."
"I'm just glad we're back together. I really love him."
"That's so sweet. "
"How about you and Brian?"
"Almost 3 years."
"Wow. That's a long time. Do you ever think about marrying him?"
"All the time. But with his career we really don't have time for a wedding. And with me acting and modeling I don't have that much time either!!"
"How do you handle being in the public eye? All these girls, do they ever get on your nerves?"
"Only when they yell things at me for dating Brian. That really makes me mad. Most fans are okay with it, which I'm glad. "
"I don't know if I could handle it yet."
"You'll get used to it. It took me awhile. The hectic schedules, last minute meetings or concerts, no sleep, leaving out of a suitcase for months, it all will get better after a while."
"Wow. I never even though of half those things. How do they do it? I don't think I could!!!"
"They love what they are doing so it doesn't get to them as much as it would to you or me. But sure, they get really tired and miss their home and families. That's why they have huge phone bills."
Amanda laughed. "How long do these meetings usually last?"
"About 3 hours or so."
"I think if we speed shop we can get done in 3 hours."
"That's for sure."
LeighAnne pulled into the Orlando Mall and warned Amanda about the fans.
"They know who I am so we might get some girls coming up to us. If they ask who you are, say you're my cousin. You don't want to get mobbed in a mall, and if you say you're with Nick, you will."
"Ok, thanks for the warning."
They both walked into the mall and first headed into Old Navy with was right next to the entrance. Amanda fouund some cute pajama's that she bought. They were purple and blue plaid shorts with a solid purple tank top. LeighAnne picked out a similar pair to Amanda except hers were blue and pink with a blue top. They paid for those and headed into a few more stores before stopping at Arbys to get something to drink, Amanda getting a frozen pink lemonade and LeighAnne a frozen coke. Right next to the restaurant was a bunch of seats around a fake waterfall. They sat there drinking their beverages. They had already gathered 4 bags apiece with only visiting 5 stores. Amanda picked up 2 CD's by Savage Garden and the new BSB single, Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely. LeighAnne laughed when Amanda purchased it since she could have her own personally serenade, but instead bought the single!! She also got 2 tops at Sears, 1 at American Eagle, and a bunch of socks with prints on them at Contempo. LeighAnne bought herself tops from American Eagle, Sears, Contempo and got the Sugar Ray CD, 14:59. They finished their drinks and headed off to more stores. When more hours passed they had a total of 10 bags. They both had gotten hair accessories, 2 picture frames, and some more things.
There were no fan encounters but they got a few stares. They headed back to the studio where the guys were waiting for them.
"Hi!" they both greeted them cheerfully.
"Where have you been? We've been waiting for about a half an hour already. I couldn't leave since you had the car, " Brian told them.
"We were shopping, " Amanda responded.
"Oh gosh," Nick and Brian moaned.
LeighAnne and Amanda laughed. They said bye to everyone and Nick helped Amanda get her bags out of Brian's car. It took 2 trips but finally they were all in the Jeep. Nick and Amanda headed back to the hotel to relax for a while before joining everyone else later in the day. Amanda and Nick carried her things up to their room and dropped them beside the bed.
"Where did you get the money to buy all of this?"
"It was just lying around."
"You brought your money didn't you?"
"Yeah, well, only a couple hundred."
"Amanda, I said not to."
"I wanted to Nick. I didn't want you paying for everything. I have about $50 left anyway, so now you can pay for everything else."
"$50. That's all you have left!?"
"Yeah."
"Girls, " Nick said as he fell back onto the bed.
